Restoration / Re: 67 kick panel sealant?

I believe that it was something very similar to "plumbers putty"....
I would use press-in caulk.

I have yet to drive the new Camaro, so I really can't comment on it,
but I have no real problem with what he says about the first gen's.

Modern cars are built better from the factory. It's a fact.

Just an FYI.... National Parts Depot (NPD) carries both the metal and plastic ones.
I bought the metal ones; they are solid (not 2 piece).

I would call first. Try to talk over the phone.

I would go with 'white' stripes..... just because IMO it's a better color combo.

Mild Modifications / Q?: Hotchkis SFC's and GW Body Mounts
« on: April 19, 2009, 07:55:36 PM »
I've already bought my Hotchkis subframe connectors and I want to get the Global West InterLoc solid aluminum (stock height) body mounts.....

The question is.... should I get their standard mounts #800 or the mounts #809 they recommend for their own SFC's ???
What's the difference between the 2 of them?   Note: The #809's are $22 less.

Thanks.

Maintenance / Question about gas tank on a 69.....
« on: April 18, 2009, 07:06:00 PM »
I have tank out of car. I'm trying to dump out all the gas, but it won't all come out because of the baffles.

Does anybody know how the internal baffles are configured?
Are some attached to bottom and some attched to top of the tank?

BTW: I think it's an aftermarket tank.

A lot of people with show cars around here use Bill Hirsch engine enamel
(800-828-2061) .... I don't know if they have a website. They are in NJ.

General Discussion / Re: Z/28 rear-end gearing

The way I understand it, is that the high-winding 302 is happiest with gear ratios even lower than 3.73 (say 4.10).
