Your're missing the tab that contacts the switch.

Originality / Re: Cowl Induction Hood for 69 Camaro

I can't say for certain if the bow is limited to the sides - but if I assume that it is - what is the process to correct it?

Rocky

I've had to do 2 of these before. Block the front and the back corners and jack down the side in the middle.( These were bowed on the sides wrong, same principal applies to incorrect front bows ). Obviously put a wood block beween the jack and the side/top of the hood. I don't know what equipment availablity you have. I used the lift arm as an overhead bottle jack or porta-power station; whichever weapon of choice you prefer. Gently please. Piece of cake really.

I'm tearing this apart but you can see where the e-brake passes through and the mounting clip.

My misinformation on the fastening of the clip. As RP stated it's goes on the FW. near the e-brake cable. I'll pass on the pistol whipping as my punishment.

I have 2 of them and yes it's an origional part. The skirt is still attached to mine but I have to dig it out to get a pic. Another member may have one on file. There's also a clip that attaches to part of the skirt which then attaches to the fender. Those brackets and flaps often get tossed over the years.

A quick google search answers your mystery #
GM 350/400/700-R4 Powerglide U-Joint,1.125 bearing diameter

Can't help you yet on the GM # but I'm sure the numbers members can.

General Discussion / Re: 67 RS Headlightdoor problem :-(
« on: May 17, 2009, 01:12:44 PM »
If you don't have a service manual and to at least eliminate one thing test the headlight motor first. Unplug it, ensure it's properly grounded and run power to it. If it's bad bench test it's replacement prior to installation. If it's good then you'll obviously have to look further into the system; connections, relays, etc.

Maintenance / Re: chirping birds....
« on: May 03, 2009, 12:20:17 AM »
I'll take a stab at it. 2 possiblilities. 1.) My rear window molding was loose and rubbing against the glass and a retaining clip in a way to cause the chirping; at an idle, and driving. I could not physically make it chirp. It had to be running. 2.) My friend's Rambler/Scrambler had a chirp also. There was a crack in the trunk divider that was the source. The latter was a tough one to isolate. Search for similar scenarios.

I'll take a shot and say the reference is to the solder; the galvanized statement simply being being a Freudian slip.
