Mild Modifications / Front sway bar
« on: July 26, 2008, 05:32:40 PM »
Does anyone have any pictures of either a stock type or after market front sway bar installation on their Camaro. If you have a 67 with an after market 1  1/8 bar that would really be good.

Thanks

Nate

« on: July 14, 2008, 12:37:37 AM »
Well my Camaro is finally done. Well almost. An old hot rod is never really finished but. I am very happy with the results.
A couple of before and after.

Maintenance / Driver side sag
« on: July 10, 2008, 02:55:31 AM »
Ok so I we are almost done with repainting my Camaro and as we have been looking at the car back on its wheels we notice that the drivers side sags. Almost an inch and a 1/4. Does any one know if there is a spring perch or some sort of a rubber isolator that fits in there somewhere. I purchased that car with the front suspension "rebuilt". It has new springs, shocks and ball joints. How ever I wonder if the guy before me either purchased springs for an A/C car (even though it is not) or missed putting something back together correctly. I am going to see if both springs have the same part number on them. They have something painted on them but I need look closer at what is there. Would a front end mis-alignment cause this? It seems unlikely to me.

The back also seems low. But I don't think it is in the rear. I say this because when my friend lifts up on the front D side all the gaps between the wheels and fender equal out. I have not jacked the car up and started measuring frame rail to ground but I will start taking a closer inspection.

Any opinions welcome.

Decoding/Numbers / Bumpers

Do original GM bumpers have a part number? I assume yes. Was it stamped into the bumper? If so where would I look?

Thanks

« on: April 30, 2008, 12:24:22 PM »
I would like to post my vin info. If for no other reason than just because, but I am not sure which sub group/topic board to post it in. So here it is.

   01A
St 67-12437  NOR  67327   Body
Tr 717 - Z                 D-D   Paint

If any on has any additional info or would like to some knowledge about this vin that would be great. I do not have and GM based paperwork or POP. So I don't have any real history about the car.

Thanks

Restoration / Steering column thru firewall plate
« on: April 24, 2008, 06:55:18 PM »
I recently
purchased a 1967 camaro from a guy who had restored about 80% of the car and
I am working on finishing the interior. I was wondering if you had a nice
close up picture or some details on how the steering column fits through the
firewall and what plates and seals are used to finish this area. I believe
that I have all of these parts but I am unable to figure the puzzle out. I
am willing to read a book or look at diagrams so if you could at least tell
me what you feel is a good item to use for referance ( factory assembly
manual or a chiltons book or any materials) that would be helpful.

The Camaro is a 327 4-spd car. Originally Nantucket Blue with a standard
blue (light blue) interior. A very cool piece. No power steering. No power
brakes, drums all the way around. Unfortunately it is not the original
engine. It is from a 68 Impala but it looks very authentic in the engine
bay. I was told that it is the correct and original muncie 4 spd and 12 bolt
rear end. I have yet to confirm but it is all in good functional order. It
is a solid all metal car. There are a three holes in the trunk about the
size of a quarter each but very easily repaired. I have no desire to clone
this car into something that it is not. It seems everyone is doing that.

Anyway.

Thank you for any help you can give.
