In reading about drivetrain decode, and all the other research that CRG has generated, I noticed that while most of the pics are "clickable", and hence easy to save to my computer pictures folder, all the charts that I ran across are not downloadable. I would have to use Windows snipping tool to save them to my computer. Is it possible to eventually make them "clickable" like most of the pictures? It would make them easier to save, and easier to transfer to my phone or tablet for reference in the field or at swap meets.

Restoration / 1967 12 bolt question

When I bought my Camaro 30+ years ago for parts it was missing its rear axle. Since then, I've found that it should have had a 12 bolt in it as was evidenced by the remaining factory traction bar and the trim tag. What I am wondering as I'm looking for a reasonably priced 12 bolt, has anyone come across "Fake" '67 12 bolt axles? I know they should have mono perches, as well as the traction bracket, but since one could buy repops of those pieces now, I am concerned about buying a "converted" axle. I am not that concerned about 68, 69 Camaro axles being converted, but rather other applications. Yes. I also know I should check the axle code too, but that might be hard to do with out actually seeing the axle in person.

In a related question, I see that there are two versions of the axle bracket welded to the axle. Can my round bar fit both bracket generations? Also, will a square bar fit both bracket generations.

Restoration / 1967 Rally Sport headlight motor repair help!

I was wondering if anyone makes any parts to rebuild the headlight door motors other than the gearcase? Specifically the output shaft of the gearbox, the bronze(?) bushing, and the retaining nut.
It seems that no matter how careful I am in taking then nut off, it shears the stud at least 50% of the time.

Several years ago, I had someone at work machine two shafts using one of my good ones for a pattern. If no one else sells them, I hope to get someone else I know to make me more.

And that leads to my next question. Rather than reverse engineering the part(s), does the engineering documents still exist so I can get the exact dimensions to machine them?

I am hoping that someone with access to the info would be able to help me out as I have twelve motors in need of these shafts, bushings, and nuts.

I am also hoping to be able to find the correct, or at least close to correct, semi-tubular rivets to put everything back together.

General Discussion / rear antenna question, 67

I will be replacing my rear quarters on my 67 camaro soon and was wondering about the rear antenna mounting hole in my car. Since not every camaro came with the rear antenna option, how and when was the mounting hole made. Was it punched in the manufacturing process in the press line, which I would assume meant that there would be two different panels for the assembly process, one with and one with out the hole. Or was it introduced while the car was assembled. If while assembled, was it drilled or punched with a jig in the factory?

If it was punched, could someone post the dimensions of the hole. I am in Indiana right now and my car and books are in Pennsylvania. I may be able to get access to machine tooling to make a punch for my new panel, but time is short for me to get it done.

Originality / 1967 ss deluxe interior vs rs interior

I have a 1967 ss 350 car that should have had the deluxe interior in it when i bought the car. Unfortunately the seats, console, and dash cluster was gone before i got the car. I am unsure whether the non- rs deluxe interior (specifically the seats) is the same as an rs interior, which i assume was always deluxe. Specifically I was wondering if my seats should have that contrasting pin stripe, and if there are any other differences that the rs interior came with that my deluxe does not have.

As stated, I have an address, phone number, name and the previous owner is very local. I hope to be able to locate my POP and find out what happened to the original driveline as well as info on the original paint, stripes and history. So I don't know if I should just show up at their door with pics of what it looks like now (pretty sad), or should I call and either ask to meet or talk to them over the phone. Or should I mail them a letter? Opinions and experiences needed!

I have two incomplete Chevy catalogs that I picked up over the years and I have been trying to find the other halves to them with out success. Does anyone know where I can pick up the companion books to these two catalogs that I have.

General Discussion / 67 AIM sources

I've read alot of posts on this forum and many refer to the AIM. I don't have one yet but I do want to buy one now. I have read that there are issues with some pages being hard to read, so I want to buy the best copy possible. I've seen on ebay many different sellers and versions but I don't want to buy one that someone has recopied to resell. So my question is where can I find the most legible copy???

Restoration / 67 Fuse Block Repair

My fuse block has fuse clips that are rusty and I am worried about circuit failure due to the rust. I am an industrial electrician and have access to some very expensive wire crimping tools and I was hoping to be able to find a supplier so I can replace all my rusted fuse clips.
Every harness I see at swap meets have the same problem mine has with rusted clips.

Does anyone know who the oem supplier for the wiring harnesses were, or where i can get these fuse clips?

Decoding/Numbers / 67 camaro what do i have?

I just found this great site last night, and while I thought I knew alot about first gen Camaros, this has shown me how much I don't know. So here goes.

I have a 67 coupe that I bought just before it was scrapped nineteen years ago. It had no drive line at all, and the entire interior was missing. But I bought it as a shell to put my parts from a 68 into. At the time I bought it I didn't know what it was but what I've found out so far intrigued me. So here are the facts:

I've decoded the tag so I know it might be a ss350 or a 327 4bbl ( It still bad the ROUND radius bar bolted to a plate bolted to the body) I have no build sheet, nor any other clues that i can find other than the front had drum brakes.


SO HERE'S THE QUESTION: WHAT IS THE CHANCE THAT THIS WAS ACTUALLY AN EARLY Z-28 ?????
