Originality / Re: 67-68 Cruise Control K30- throttle lever clip
« on: May 23, 2009, 02:07:05 AM »
John,
Here are some shots of the throttle leaver clip ( same production # 3919006 for 67-68)  that you requested. When you get your 68 AIM you will see clearly ??? how it is attached to the throttle lever. The picture of the throttle clip on Ricks 67 does not look like it is installed correctly. By the way, Ricks 67 is the same one that is in Musclecar Tech (Chevrolet Camaro 1967 to 1972). I will post some shots of the throttle lever & clip tomorrow which  will bring up some questions about where the clip is supposed to be mounted. The 67-68 AIM says one thing but the actual parts say something different.
John I hope the pictures help, sorry I took so long to get started.

John,
I too am searching for a filter for my 67 K30. I am in the process of restoring the c/c componets and appreciate the pictures you supplied.
What color wires go to the controller?
What did you clean the controller with?
Pictures of other componets would be greatly appreciated.

Originality / Re: interior headliner chrome trim
« on: January 29, 2009, 04:55:38 PM »
Tinman 57,
The trim you are inquiring about was  an RPO Z23 option which included the trim you you are asking about in 67 only. The RPO Z23 option was available in 68 and 69  but did not include  ( I believe) the trim you are asking about.

just need to know what year camaro received this trim in the deluxe interior? Was it just 67, 68 or 69 or all?

Update:
In regards to 2 BB throttle levers (use 67 AIM L35 A11 as reference) Item #3 . The change in the revision record 2-8-67 1 may be a change from the SB lever to the BB lever. I do not under stand that being the case as the 396  L35 was new production in 1-?-67 and there would be no need for a revision, unless some of the early production BB had SB levers. A comparison of some of the early and late BB leavers might shed some light on the matter.Someone with a 67 PM might be able to reference the part numbers.     3879422 and 3912599
Kurt,thanks for the info.

Originality / Re: First production date for 67 L35 and L78
« on: December 17, 2008, 05:52:17 PM »
Kurt,
Thanks for the info. I guess after searching 79 threads I must have missed it. Just did not ask the right question.
The 396 L35 started production in January (build date) of 67 according to what CRG has found to this date? Correct?
This information now makes me wonder about some of the info I used from the 67 AIM in 2 topics that I have in this forum.
Thanks again.

Originality / First production date for 67 L35 and L78
« on: December 16, 2008, 06:56:54 AM »

I am of the understanding that the release date for the 67 L35 & L78 was in Nov.66. If this is true ????? then when was the first L35 or L78 actually produced?

Thanks,
Bob

Restoration / Re: Pully Misalignment

Did you take the air pump and alt. brackets off during your cosmetic restoration?
Check the alignment of the crank pulley and the water pump pulley.

Trying to verify if solenoid retainer clip went into production.
Only seen one and it was on a 68 BB.
Please use 67 AIM 12 A9 #7 3906181 clip,68 AIM 12 A11 or 69 AIM 12 A7.
Thanks.

Use 67 AIM, add up RPO"s,  it will tell you the height and where to measure (providing you have the correct tires and wheels).

Try to use P&A's(69)that are as close to the year AIM's (69) as possible. This cuts down on GM part # substitution. Try to get verification from at least 2 references.
Both cars are (will be) drivers and will be shown. I have taken some latitude with some of the RPO"s ( 7 blade fans etc.), gets hot here in FL.

Restoration / Re: '67 center console
« on: November 04, 2008, 04:25:46 PM »
I think the process of restoring the console with paint would be complicated. The chrome would have to be thoroughly sanded, etched, filled, primed, chromium paint and then cleared. If done correctly the results looks good but there is no substitute for chrome. The black is easy, thoroughly sand, etch, prime and spray black.
You could search EBay and swap meets for a console that is in better shape than yours but a really good console would cost more than 350.00.

Call Advance plating (or any of the really good chrome shops) and inquire if and how much ( hold onto your hat). This would only be done if you needed an original console or you have a fat wallet.

If you do not absolutely need an original and looks are important then the 350.00, even it is a little expensive, is the best alternative. You can try to sell your console at a swap meet or EBay and re-coupe some of your money.
This is my opinion, and what I will do with the 67 I am restoring.

Restoration / Re: camaro markings

JohnZ,
Would it be possible that a line worker used this to indicate something to another co-worker during a shift change (a start or finish of a particular procedure)?
The tire would have covered it up and none the wiser.
Just curious.

Just checked 1111169 and 1111170 and they do not have a GM logo. Checked some HEI dist. and one had a DELCO logo on it.
