Decoding/Numbers / Re: Correct 1968 AC Compressor Identification
« on: June 05, 2009, 06:03:49 PM »
Kurts,
Can I assume the correct model # for a 67 is the same (6550133)?
Are all 1st gen decals red & black?
Was wondering is the 67 decal different in size since the muffler bracket goes around the body and would cover the lower red portion  of the decal.
I have seen pictures of the 67 w/bracket and the red portion of the decal is not covered. This indicates to me the decal must be longer, therefor different.

Could someone with a very late production date  (at least 5E or later) look and see if their  bracket is plastic or metal? The 67 AIM shows production # 3924409 and 68 AIM shows production # 3924409. Could some one with a 67 & 68 P&A check to see if these production numbers  where carried over to 67 to 68 as service numbers? The 69 P&A shows 3924409 as the service replacement but that would be expected. If 3924409 shows up in the 67 P&A then some of the brackets could have been in late 67 production.
Support is in group 3.452 and lever is in group 3.454 in the 69 P&A, could be different in the 67,68 P&A.

Just thought I would run this by the members again. ???

Rat Pack, thanks for the info. on the finish of the levers.

Kurts, did you ever post the info. about the AIM procedures?

Thanks for the reply.

Bob, I tried taking some pictures but the flash makes them appear lighter than they actually are. I would say go with a more gray than black phosphate vs. light/dark. I have always had them redone in a gray color with the hood hinges and latch assy.............RatPack................

Am I correct in assuming there was never carpet or liner installed by the factory?
Deluxe interior received trunk mat.

So you are saying that the trunk and cover where spatter painted at the same time  then the cover was installed later  in the production process. Does anyone know where the cover was actually spatter painted ( in the trunk on a wire or off line)?
What color is the back of the cover? Some % of black or body primer?

Chris.....I have a 07C 1968 Norwood car.  Haven't had a chance to get to the garage with the camaro but I did go by and look.  It has a coating of black and white speckle and the gas filler cover is speckled but the screw looks like a regular phosphate one and it appears to be speckled behind the filler tube as well.

Hope that helps...

Sorry, that should be Kurts !

John,
I would try Kerts. I am sure he could tell you how to document the system. I do not think that CRG has very much information on the RPO K30 system as it has to be one of the rarest of the RPO's, you could count the survivors one one hand.
Congradulations on a great find. ;D

Does anyone know if the REV. date on a P&A is a revision for that model year or new model year parts books that were revised from the previous years  ???? Just wondering as most P&A,s have a rev. dated around Oct (?).

John,
Also try to get Paul to send the cruise control section from his 68 P&A as the 69 P&A may have had some of the service numbers updated.

I was just wondering when GM made the revisions to the P&A, looks like Oct.
Thanks for the reply.
Phillip,
If you ever decide to part with one of your 67 P&A's , I am interested.
John,
Gladly help with the cost if you can strike a deal.

« on: May 26, 2009, 02:08:54 AM »
Clip update,
The 67 AIM ( K30 A3 ) shows that the clip was revised in 4-6-67 from 3904186 (early) to 39190069 (late).
This could explain why Rick's clip installation does not look like it is correct or it was redesigned for the new BB lever 3879422 (revised on 2-8-67 to 3912599) which was released in 1-?-67.
