Originality / Re: 4 Bolt Main Brass Oil Line Fitting $80
« on: July 09, 2022, 03:13:20 PM »
Just found this topic and question 1st gen BB bushing being made of brass. The bushing in question should be 3/4"NPT x 1/2"NPT not 3/4"NPT x 3/8"NPT.

Originality / 67 T400 shifter to tunnel seal
« on: May 23, 2022, 03:05:56 AM »
67 AIM M40 A7 #1 shows same as M35 A8 #4 3895281 seal. 3895281 seal is for the PG shifter and can be used on T400 shifter but I do not think it is correct.
I am restoring an RPO M11 shifter and it uses a 3912612 seal (68 AIM M11 A3 #12) which is not as deep as the PG seal (2"vs 2 3/4"). The M11 shifter (M11 A3 #11 3912607) is the same shifter used in 67 (M40 A7 #2).
Could someone with a 67 T400 check to see if the PG seal (2 3/4") was used on the T400 shifter in 67?

3954206 is a 1969 only production part and will not fit the 67-68 vertical grill brace. 3916739 gr.2.383 (3916730 ) is an OTC part ( not production part) and will only fit the 67-68 vertical brace.

I know old topic.
Does anyone have information showing that 3916730 is the correct part number and 3916739 is not. The P&A oct 1968, P&A 30A 1969 rev.7-1-69 and P&A rev. 10-1-69 all show 3916739 as part number for early plate. Why and who made the decision that 3916730 is a typo? To do that there should be documentation.

Originality / Re: 67 T400 Transmission Mount
« on: April 15, 2022, 05:44:39 PM »
Old post but never received an answer to my question. In the time frame in question there was also a change in the trans, pan from a slant bottom to flat bottom, plus a change in filter design.
This may have been around the same time of the rear mount change.

So much for the gloss finish on the tail panel theory. I would imagine Nor. would have the same finish.

Originality / Re: 69 Bucket Seat Tops w/Steel Springs
« on: March 03, 2020, 04:03:40 PM »
Joe,
I want to thank you for the leads. I called American Cushion and they told me that the yellow foam is to be separated from the springs and the gray rubber on the back of the springs. The gray rubber is to remain attached to the springs and new foam is glued to them. They could not tell me if the springs were molded into the gray rubber or was sandwiched between the yellow foam and the gray rubber. I guess the burlap can not be used. I am going to call Legendary and ask them about this problem area.

Originality / Re: 1968 BB timing cover dowel pins
« on: March 02, 2020, 11:36:16 PM »
I believe that Jan 68 was possibly the first 3935440 production blocks but 3916323 blocks where being phased out of production at that time. All 440 blocks should have dowel pins. So early 68 model production would have spin-on filter and no dowel pins and late production could have spin-on filter and no dowel pins or would have spin-on filter and dowel pins depending on the block installed. I have no idea when the last 3916323 block was installed but the 3935440 block would have been in production long before May 31 68 . Replacement block 3955272 for the 440 would start in approx. Sept.68.

Joe,
My 69 seats have the seat back cushions with a reinforcing wire molded into a separately attached cushion. I can get the foam with wire but am looking for information on the install before I take my seats apart.
Thanks for the info provided but it was for the seat cushions without wire.
