Originality / Re: 69 SS 396 starter

I had a rebuilder make "the strogest starter he could" fo a BBC. he used a 455 starter with a chevy nose. 25 plus years and still going, I have never suffered from "hot starter syndrome" again.

General Discussion / Re: after market cross ram
« on: January 06, 2016, 10:42:51 PM »
WOW! BIG budgets for aftermarket stuff! just a few months ago there was a guy at the Long Beach swapmeet selling for $350 a complete set-up. when I left he still had it. Another regular seller has at least 3 other SBC crossram manifolds that never seem to sell ($-??). Is there really a demand for these? Becuse there must be at least 20,000 69 Z-28's in SoCal alone!!

Hmm,
So the wagons, vans, trucks, 4 doors, ect.  from these dealers must be worth
some big bucks too! (well, maybe the original license plate frames anyway)
Everything here is scrutized like that, and rightfully so. Thats why I'm here.

Those were recall items, original motor mounts were prone to breakage causing weired gas pedal fluctuations and accidents.
there should be threads on this site, use search.

My understanding is that Fisher body did the painted part and GM applied the stickers to match the lines to the parts they installed.

Lemarin,
XN coded 14 x 6 rally wheels are for drum brake cars,  XG wheels came with disc brakes. 14 x 7 69's would be nice.

hugger,
Those are front and rear frames. The dealer's ID trunk plate was not common in the Southern California.
