It's great to see a site dedicated to the 1969 LM1 Camaro.

Great find on your car ! It has to be one of one made. Lucas restorations looks like a first class shop to restore your rare piece. Keep us at CRG informed on the progress.

Restoration / Re: Markings on Bolts and how to do a "batch" clean

As far as cleaning goes I think a parts tumbler from Eastwood or Harbor Freight would work. You just need to choose the right media to use with it and keep an eye on them. Don't let them run to long.

I was wondering the same thing about the 30 30 cam power curve. It seems like it's more of a higher RPM cam. With today's technology from the cam grinders it seems like there would be a better performing cam than the 30 30, a cam that would work through the entire power range and you could still turn 8 grand++. I know this is diiferent for every trans and rearend combo out there though.

Only my 2 cent's

I found some paint marks on my 69 Z/28 when I was taking it apart also. Yellow and White on the rotors. Orange on the calipers, and yellow and white on the centerlink and idler arm. This car has never been apart that I can see.

JL8 Dale & Stillwater Camaro, Thanks for the info. That's the way the 1969 Assembly Instruction Manual shows them also.

Restoration / Lower Control Arm Bolts Correct installation?
« on: April 28, 2008, 05:32:37 PM »
I was installing the lower contorl arm on my 69 and wondered which way the nuts need to face towards the front on the car. I was looking at the AIM ( 3A1 & 3A2 ) for the 69 model and it shows the bolts being installed in opposite each other. Is this correct? I can't remember I took the car apart a year and a half ago. Any help would be appriciated.

Thanks CRG.
