General Discussion / Re: Manual Trans Shifter Report
« on: February 28, 2021, 12:09:09 PM »
Most likely the firebird. Strange, Camaro on its 3 spd shifters did not use the hurst Slip-in "bayonet" style round handle (stamped 5325) . i also purchased a 3 spd bayonet style shifter with hurst round bar , thought it was cool and different.

Your car I would say is well optioned over highly optioned.
thanks for replies, if my car had a deluxe interior would feel more 'well optioned'. Original owner told me salesmen threw into the deal the rear defogger, to bad it wasn't the deluxe interior or swap out AM/FM for RS package.

these terms are used all the time, what options and/or quantity of options makes a car well/highly optioned?
would my Canadian SS with L78, M20, 410 ,AM/FM and rear defogger be considered well optioned or highly optioned or low optioned?

I have only seen the Ryerson & Haynes and the Ausco ( marked AB I believe ) on the A body cars. Not familiar with them used on the first gen Camaros. Thanks for the photos
i have the RH jack from 1968 Camaro, can't find date on it ( should be end of post near seam) , anyone have picture they can post showing date?

i would think a 7.75 X 14 tire would be on a 6" rim and not on a 5"   "HI" rim.

would think there are two wheel assemblies , one assembly for cars equipped with L34 , L35 , L46 , L48 , L78 , PW7 and PW8 ( would come with 9793470 Inflator ASM) and other assembly would be your default (would come with 9793469 Inflator ASM). Both assemblies would have same "HI" stamped rim.

Restoration / Re: Brake Booster Paint Marks??
« on: February 21, 2020, 03:17:55 PM »
Sorry, no disrespect in not replying sooner, I have been out for work the last several weeks.
Attached you will see a white round mark on the top, and a yellow round mark to the right. This booster was re-plated once before but it appears there was a master cylinder leak at some point after plating. Not sure what the previous owner was attempting to replicate? All other chalk marks and stampings seem to be very correct.
Unless someone tells me these marks are some very special, long lost one of a kind...….. I will not put them back.
Thanks, Gary
Looks like it was already replated, marks may not be original?
