Originality / Yellow marking on smog pump

There is a yellow paint mark on this survivor smog pump assembly, do you think it is a factory mark?
Also the pump (dated 20081Y) has a relief valve and all the clamps are dated 1 69, no wire on diverter(29297), is this original for an early car?

Originality / Is it my opinion but are Restamped parts becoming acceptable?

Why would anybody waste money on a restamped part if they had no intention on fooling anyone (judges, buyers etc.). I need a 837 alternator for my documented 1969 L78 Camaro and have never considered the restamp alternative, I prefer to put a blank casting untill I find a original one. In my opinion a restamp part or altered casting numbers are not OK by me.
