When this procedure was taped out at the factory it was done fast. So to reproduce correctly do it fast with little care of how it turns out.

Just because they are next door doesn't mean it will be done as the factory did it. You have to decide if you want it done right or just installed.
The most skill and patiance is in removing the old quarters without cutting into other parts such as the brace supports.
Body shops are all about just getting it done and move on.

Key on, points open, not a problem. Key on, points closed (making contact) makes the + wire hot.

If its coming from inside the venturi area it OK. The engine is pulling air and fuel through the carb circuits.

I could try and Advance the timing a bit, right now I believe I'm eight degrees before top dead center on the marker... but it could be less than that I would have to check again

How far Advanced would you suggest I go?

Go with 36 degrees total. Disconnect and plug  Vac. advance before setting total then reconnect.

There is no heat riser valve in a header system. Is your Ign. timing correct and not retarded? I would also heat shield the metal fuel line where it passes the header tube.
You could also block the heat riser passage in the intake but with this set-up it should not be necessary.

Scott are the panels 1/4 of an inch thicker or are the shafts longer for the different design lever?
I'm not arguing with you since you have the comparisons in your hands just trying to figure this out.

The only difference I can see is on the door release shaft. The Deluxe are drilled and tapped for a handle retainer screw instead of the horse shoe clip.
The Late (last day 67 production) Camaro I Had, the factory installed Deluxe panels with standard door parts. They fit fine.

I don't believe there is a difference in 67.

If your pulling a loaded horse trailer where ever you go the hard seats would be advised.
Only heavily loaded engines will benefit from the seats.

I think it looks like crap. Have no idea what the factory was thinking when they did that.
