Decoding/Numbers / 69Z rear ratios
« on: September 26, 2013, 03:28:27 AM »
I have searched for threads on rear ends codes for 69 z28s and I am having trouble.  My rear is stamped BN 10 16 G2  and the casting date is J 1 9 with 3969341 casted as well.  Is the BN 3.55 Non Posi ratio possible for a Z?  (TT date 11A).  Thanks for your help!

General Discussion / Re: original paint 69 Z on ebay... "survivor"

Just got off the phone with the guy that owned it from 1971 until it sold in Dec 2012.  Paint is original  This owner knew the car when new.  The only thing is question is the pinstripe which was possibly added at the original  dealer.

I have searched this on the forum but no luck finding my answer.  What is the correct style of this bracket?  I have seen OEM GM that are offset a bit.  Mine is flat all across.  Which is correct? Thanks for your help!

I know I do not have much to post about, but I know the previous owner and car well.  He bought it in 1971 and sold it in Dec 2012.  He found my 69 Z in 1975.  Both were from the same dealer in Louisiana.  I had several chances to buy the silver car, but was not financially able.  The used parts that go with the car ARE the original born with pieces.

Decoding/Numbers / Late JL8 production build

I noticed a Z28 listed on an upcoming Texas auction promoted to be a JL8 and the cowl tag shows a 10 B date.  Is it possible that one was produced this late? Thanks

I have seen online references to xxx733 and xxx458N  for the correct flywheel numbers.  I searched the CRG database but could not confirm.  Thanks for your help. :)
