21  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Mild Modifications / Re: rear seat belts on: August 13, 2007, 10:53:06 AM
thanks guys .....boosters require a shoulder harness.....factory points will be too high and choke my kids. I want to put the shoulder point on the quarter......ive done the same sort of thing on my split bus i previously owned....essentially  large washers sandwiching the panel to spread the force when pulled. im gonna need to see if the steel is strong enough or the welds can handle it.....i'll keep you posted.
22  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Mild Modifications / Re: rear seat belts on: August 12, 2007, 06:17:10 PM
was it the hacking comment.....that makes people not want to respond........really has anyone ever done this mod???
23  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Mild Modifications / rear seat belts on: August 09, 2007, 11:30:43 PM
what solutions are out there....my kids are at the age that one is in a booster and one's between a car seat and booster....i have access to airplane style seat belts..... and want to make a hole on the inside quarter panel(body)and install a three point belt. where should i make the hole at? remember, my kids are short and i want to make the holes accordingly...i dont care about hacking this car since it is not a resto......thank you. Wink

25  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: LOWER CONTROL ARM HARDWARE on: August 04, 2007, 07:12:25 PM
now i really dont want to weld this thing up and make it more complicated.....can i use washers on the thing? or am i doomed......write now it seems it'll be fine but since im down ther i want to something.....what's the verdict gentlemen?
26  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: LOWER CONTROL ARM HARDWARE on: August 03, 2007, 12:33:04 PM
You are correct but the previous abuser damaged the holes somehow Angry.... the nut and bolthead seem to be opening the holes larger....so should i put a washer on them as added security?
27  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / LOWER CONTROL ARM HARDWARE on: August 03, 2007, 10:56:07 AM
did the lower control arm bolts ever have washers on either end? seems as though without washers the bolt tears away at the frame hole. i have seen this on other camaros ive had but dont remember seeing washers. but i am compelled to use some there....will this cause any problems?.......thanks for any advise.
28  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Restoration / Re: SPRINGS IN THE BURLAP on: August 01, 2007, 02:01:01 PM
the way they are in the backrest is under the burlap but between a thin plastic sheet and the burlap....then laid above the springs....so i got some sisel padding that has a strong plastic mesh attached to jute type padding....at work we sell this to guys who restore their bug seats......i layed the thin wires above the springs and put the sisel (mesh down) on the structure......then hog-ringed it like the original.....this seemed to be as close to the original i could recreate.....then i layed the foam pad from a vw bus seat on it all....seemed to be ok....i still need to wrap it with vinyll to give it a tight feel to it. i should probaly pay a pro but i have other stuff to chew on........later and thanks for the input. Wink

30  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Mild Modifications / ENOS KIT on: July 25, 2007, 01:10:44 PM
has anyone used this kit....how hard/esy was it.....my buddy just told me he's cleaning his garage stash and a complete kit is for sale......called enos and the kit will work for me.....any advise? i want to do it all myself.....i am not afraid of wiring especially after my year long stint modding my 89 tpi IROC. what kind of results you guys get? thanks.
