Your muncie M21 is on ebay, I asked the seller for the vin and his response was 19N502272.

Originality / Re: No partial VIN on blocks
« on: August 05, 2007, 03:34:07 AM »
Quoted from 69 Camaro FAQ's
"Engine Partial VIN stamping:
Some Van Nuys-built (LOS/VN) cars had the VIN stamped on the pad of the block and some had the VIN stamped down by the oil filter. Sometime in October of 1968, we believe the stamp was moved to the oil filter, but by sometime around February of 1969 we believe the stamp moved back up to the pad."

I also have pics of V1226DZ with vin 19L516579 stamped on the pad, this is a 01B L.A. car with a F or 6th day of production month on the trim tag. I estimate this car's production day is approximately Jan 9th '69.

I own block V0109DZ which came out of 19L518297.

Umm, do you realize this car is still out there?

Well I've owned the block close to 10 years, where's the car?

I own block V0109DZ which came out of 19L518297. I've deduced that this car's build date was approximately 01C, 9th day of production for Jan '69, Jan 12th?, and the partial vin was stamped on the front pad next to the DZ stamp.

I owned a 67 RSSS 350 car, muncie, 12 bolt 3.31 posi, L.A. car from 1981-1994 with no radius rod, car's build date unknown.
I also owned a 67 firebird 326, muncie, 10 bolt 3.55 posi from 1981-1982 and that one had two rectangular radius rods, one on each axle tube. I believe that was also a L.A. car, build date unknown

Decoding/Numbers / QL 12-bolt rearend
« on: May 22, 2007, 06:18:39 PM »
I have a 12-bolt rear end, was told it came out of 68 Camaro, had 488 posi on a 3 series carrier w/ a spacer plate. Casting date is K76 so seems more appropriate for 67 camaro. Stamp is QL02   21G1, large space between 02 and 21. Spring perches were changed so cannot verify single or multi leaf perches.
Any idea on what QL was?

1969 - Orphans / Re: 9N503891 engine found

That car is an early sept 68 built, with a late august engine assy date the L on the casting date would make more sense as a H. any chance the H was mistaken for an L?

probably 19N569735 making it a late dec 68 car according to Jason Scott's "Camaro Restoration Guide" which shows all dec 68 Norwood cars to range from 561863-569987.
