Anyone ever used a 20 by 8 foot enclosed hauler for a first gen car. I am looking at replacing my open trailer.I hear 8.5 foot wide is the best but I have a chance at a good deal on a 8 footer. Thanks

Nothing better than going for a country side drive in our 68 Z . It has all original drive-line but oh yes the engine paint and manifolds  have burnt , worn out paint on them but I do not worry anymore. I use to worry about every bug , chip, ding and idiot that pointed out faults on the Z . When I drive it now I just smile to think of the feeling of actually owning a real 68 Z even if it is not a trailer queen. Enjoy the car you worked hard to buy ,own and maintain. Its your choice what you do with it. ;D ;D

If anyone questions  going with John Z tip of using full manifold vacuum it is the best thing I ever did to my 1968 Z. It runs so much better on the street. Likely the best tip I have ever done to make these 302 s run like they should .  Thanks John

I have  02E LOS z28 with the correct alternator.I had it rebuilt back probably 15 years ago. I seen this post so I checked the back of mine. It was rebuilt and a 1969 rear half was puy on during the process. I doubt that many years ago it was done to screw me but anyhow it was done that way. I am glad the correct original front section with correct numbers was not misplaced.

I just acquired a 68 Z28. The car has all smog equipment intact and also the couple had a cowl plenum that came off another car they had but is long gone. Would it be best to install the smog equip. or go with the cowl plenum. Car is pretty correct otherwise. Thanks for any thoughts. ???

General Discussion / 302 engine pad rust
« on: June 02, 2011, 12:50:32 AM »
I was wondering if anyone could tell me what is best to clean off rust that has accumulated on my serial number pad of my 302 . I had the motor rebuilt 2 years ago and brought it home and left it on an engine stand since because of family issues. The engine has formed rust on the engine pad as the block was left untouched for 24  months. I guess I should have put some oil on the bare area before it was stored away I do not want to harm this area as it is the born with 302 for my 68 Z. Any ideas,Thanks  ???
