Decoding/Numbers / Re: Rare One?

LOTS of cars received the 3.07 12 bolt rear axle.

From the Power Teams chart...

Yes, the standard ratio 12 bolt with the L35 396 engine and all transmission combos was the 3.07

The economy ratio 12 bolt with the LM1 or L48 350 when coupled with the HD 3 speed or M20 4 speed was the 3.07 ratio.

Why?  When is the last time you had to pull the pan at a show to have them verify the crankshaft was correctly dated for your car?

It may have a casting date if it is a cast crank.  See this link for where to look.

Some may have a forging date, but I am not sure on that.

I don't know.  All I ever look for is the casting number.  A date on a crankshaft is not important to me.

GI JOE,

You say the 5612 rod is an early 69 BB rod?  Are there any other numbers for "early" rods?

Looks like the item goes to a 307/200hp Powerglide car.  I think unless you own the car, anything over $100 is too high.

David, if you have connections, I think that would be a worthwhile project.  I don't have a survivor car, but hopefully others would agree to submit samples for analysis.
