Hooker Super Comps fit in a 68 with a 406, Dart aluminum heads and manual steering box without much fuss.

What about the back drive????

Not exactly sure what you mean. Has a Lakewood bellhousing and Muncie. Custom bent 2.5 inch exhaust with H pipe. This is in dad's car.

Wouldn't it seem fair to have the shop that did the bad work replace them for you?

If you still want the stock look, there are heads out there. Check your local craigslist or swap meets.

If you want, let me know what dates you are looking for and I can check around.

Isn't it a black car? Can you post the cowl tag info or a pic?

Axle code is easy to check.

I am pretty sure the 302s just used a standard oil pump, but they had a better/heavier spring in them to get higher pressure.

Sorry I was talking Corvette only in my previous post. And yes I forgot about the ZL1 Corvettes. Dang...

That's true.

I believe in both 68 and 69 the options were 390 hp, 400 hp (hydraulic cam and three twos), 430 hp (L88 - with the single four barrel carb, solid cam and aluminum heads), and 435 hp (solid cam and three twos).

If you are talking about Lions Associated Drag Strip in Wilmington - it might be worth your while to check into any Facebook or other sites that might have old photos to look through.

Yes, welcome Tim. Do you know where it may have been raced? That may help.

And as Willam said, the HD Muncie 3 speed was pretty rare. Even more rare to see in cars today.

I initially read the above post wrong.

It's ok to have a list, but it's more fun to converse back and forth! :)

Interesting car.  I like the paint. Don't really care for the flares though.

I can't quite read the body number, and I wonder what the rear axle code is....

He was last active in January of this year.

Chances of finding paperwork for any one car aren't zero, but close to it.

Check as many things as you can. Radiator, heater box, engine frame stands, cross member.  Transmission should be a Muncie 4 speed or TH400. And it needs to have a 12 bolt axle. Check the code on the front passenger side axle tube and let us know what it is.

Engines and transmissions are changed a lot. Axles tend to stay with the car, in general. We should be able to tell by the date if the axle is original to the car.
