General Discussion / Re: Holley Carb Leak?
« on: May 13, 2018, 11:39:12 PM »
Now that I think about it, if the accelerator pump was adjusted so there was tension on the pump lever at rest, could it be forcing fuel up thru the shooter when the engine was off?

Yes I think so.

I think there is more than one issue going on with this carb.  What gaskets were used?

I can not give a thumbs up or thumbs down on the POP.  Would need to see that in person. Someone that I greatly respect felt the same way.

There are some pretty convincing reproductions out there.

GM parts book lists that number for 67-68.  But I suppose could also be 69.

Rally wheels came with J52 front disc brakes in 67. Rally wheels were not required if you had power drum brakes.

Does the car have front disc brakes?

137,163 Camaros received the P01 wheel covers in 67.

Another way to look at it is what would the car be worth all repaired to the way you want it.  Then figure how much it would cost to get there.  Figure the difference and then there is your price to pay.

But it really comes down to what you are comfortable with and what you want.  The options are great on this car. Being an automatic doesn't bother me a bit, but it may for some. Should be a great car for cruising and having fun if you get it for the right price.  Let us know how things turn out.

My estimate could be higher or lower depending how an inspection would turn out.

Check the most like areas for rust issues, frame rails, shock towers, subframe in addition to floors and trunk.

Maybe $10-12k.

Non SS, rust and and non original drivetrain hurt it. Options help. Very subjective though. Would be better to evaluate the rust with a personal inspection on site.

I am thinking, but I don't follow convertible prices that closely. Will respond later.

BTW, the link in your signature does not seem to work.

Rest of body ok with no rust?  Condition of engine, trans, interior, paint?

Pics would help a little.

Some of us log information on cars. That’s how the database gets larger.

It had pics in the eBay ad at that time.

You can post pics here just resize them. Here is how.

It was on ebay in 2010. It has a repro tag.....

Do you have the listing for this?

Doubtful.

Why would that matter?
