Did you ask them why they did that?

Tag is not typical for an original car.

I don't see an pics of the transmission or axle stampings.

It's not a bad looking car. But anyone interested should inspect very closely in person.

Here is the pad. Yikes.

Dave,

With GPS showing 65 mph the speedometer shows 50 mph?

Which driven gear are you running now?

I will try to do some checking for you later today.

Question... has anyone heard of a 1967 Camaro with a 396-325 that wasn't an SS?

Please explain why you are asking.

For 1967 if it had a 350 or a 396 then it was a Super Sport.

Not telling you what to do, only making suggestions. Enjoy the car as it is. Spend more time with family and friends. Try to reconnect with long lost friends. Don't give up hope in finding the whole story of your car, just don't let it consume you.

There are many of us searching for data not only on our cars, but data for others too. It is always exciting when a block or paperwork is reunited with a car.

Google won’t help you figure out your car by VIN. Otherwise everyone would be using it.

Clues say my 68 is an L78. But no solid proof. I keep hoping paperwork or the block will show up. It used to be on my mind a lot. Now it really doesn’t matter. Life is short. We just need to enjoy.

Just remember, the most important things in life aren’t “things”.

It’s very rare. Heavy Duty Service axle used in 1968. Probably less than 10 known today.

So they weren't installed at the factory?

No not installed in cars at the assembly plant. Over the counter and not many people knew about them at the time.

That will work. I am going to send you a message so I know how to label your full name, partial name or CRG handle with the pic.

Thank you!

I updated the homepage pics today.

I plan to use Joe's 68 (user x66 714) as the next 68 and user t.r.gaddy will be the next 67.

Anyone volunteer to be the 69 for the next update?  That will be several months from now.
