Decoding/Numbers / z11 is it a fake?
« on: April 30, 2007, 02:07:57 AM »
Here is a z11 on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1969-CAMARO-FACTORY-Z-11-PACE-CAR-SS-RS-300HP-350_W0QQitemZ130107245153QQihZ003QQcategoryZ6161QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I saw earlier where comments were made that a 3e car was too early for a z11. Is this one a fake?

Decoding/Numbers / Ring and Pinion Numbers
« on: April 26, 2007, 01:21:10 AM »
Do ring and pinion gears have date codes? The numbers off each are below. Some are obvious like the 14 43 for a 3.07:1 ratio and some appear to be part numbers. Some of the others I am not certain. If I were to guess the 11 68 is November 1968 for the ring and 10 68 is October 1968 for the pinion. If these are dates could this be a matched set if the gears were not made on the same date?

Ring Gear 1 GM 3862691 14 43 11 68 10-2
Pinion 2 10 68 GM 3853003 14 43

Originality / 396 rear engine lift bracket
« on: April 14, 2007, 12:31:48 AM »
Does anyone have a photo of the correct rear engine lift bracket for a 1969 396. I have seen photos of the front bracket and the type which bolts under two of the intake bolts is used. Is the rear the same?

Decoding/Numbers / VIN in the database?
« on: March 20, 2007, 12:27:21 AM »
I found the VINs for a couple of cars I previously owned. Anything in the database? 123479N629100 and 124379N701457

I am new to this. Can you tell me a little more about the database?

Decoding/Numbers / Dual Fuel Lines
« on: March 12, 2007, 01:22:53 AM »
Do any 1969 L35 (396, 325 hp) have a single fuel line? I believe I have a 1969 RS/SS and everything seems to check out except the lack of dual fuel lines. It does not have any evidence of dual lines at the sender or along the attachment points under the body.

Also this is great site with a lot of information. I greatly appreciate all the hard work that goes into develping and maintaining it.
