Shouldn't have a 0 in front of the 9.  That would be Feb 1, 1969.  If it has the 0, I guess its April, 1971.

I'm looking for something for my engine which doesn't have a cam in it yet.  All stock 302 parts.  Anyone (maybe Jerry) have an opinion over all these cams described above?  Does any one stand out or is it just personal preference.  And what would be the difference performance-wise in these last three? (346s, 346s modern, and 282s)

That's the lure of Ebay. "Original", "NOS","rare", "Z28, Yenko, Baldwin" etc.  A guy was selling an 021 flywheel and said "super rare part".

I thought I knew a lot about what was what until I got on here and TC.  But you can't argue with facts and the research these people do, and have done.  There are a lot of people that try to rip other people off on these cars and their parts.  It' not very funny when you read a story about Doug's 69 on Team Camaro.  That's why some of us are quick to judge and not very forgiving about this stuff.  Could your car be what you say it is?  I don't know.  There are some exceptions I guess, but you have to understand people being suspicious when there are so many that aren't.

Would a CE block be date coded to a car's build date?  If the engine blew up on a 68 in 1970, wouldn't they replace it with a 1970 CE block?

Well, It's actually grease.  I just had mine rebuilt by Pro Steering and some other people on TC used them too.  I asked them and they use Valvoline Multi Purpose grease # 612.  Jerry MacNeish rebuilds them too.  If yours is leaking, I'd get it fixed.  Mine had to have the whole inside replaced as it leaked out and the inside looked like it had mud in it.  I don't know if Jerry sells seals or not.  www.prosteering.com and Jerry is www.z28camaro.com
