"A good indicator would be cruise nights, cars and coffee, car shows, and swap meets. "

For me a Good indicator is people are restoring Four doors and wagons,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,amazing!

ALOT of parts and car will be available in the Next 20 years! (That was not a Gorey negative statement) just an eventuality - reality.

as a point My family had to (Chose to) liquidate Dads Model T's, Packard, Hudson Etc, just as someone will distribute my Super sports and Z, as the world turns.
Enjoy them (& the friends) as best you can

Maintenance / Re: Voltage Regulator Bench Testing?
« on: June 06, 2022, 04:49:50 PM »
Handy References: On Bench
#1) Delco Service Bulletin 1R-262/263 (dtd 4-1-66)
Handy References: On Car
#2) Chevrolet Chassis Service Manual Section 6Y "Charging Systems"

I have never Bench tested a VR.

If it is an option (Dated component) I used to send it to Pirkle for cosmetic and functional restoration, And a few have hidden a modern WELLS 715(?) electronic reg under a delco cap and housing.

Here are a few Factory originals I took off my 69 SS350 and 68 SS396.

I seem to remember the asphalt (oil) soaked sleeve on the 1968 cable, cutting it off including a steel pinch ring.

Note the 69 positive does not have a tang on the terminal lug spade.

Krooks. (Lawyered advertising to maximize the profit at risk to the il informed buying public)

This one is built to correct specs using period correct driveline. It's a no frills muscle car!

"is Built" just NOT By G.M.

I know I sound like a broken record.  The 'general' sold everyone down the river w/o historical doc's.

Originality / Re: 1967 pinstripe
« on: May 28, 2022, 08:08:44 PM »
Yes, It is a bit hidden, Look under:

Optional Stripes
1967
Starting in April 67 and continuing through the end of the model year, the D91 stripe (aka front accent band) was available for non-SS, non-Z28 cars. Cars with the Rally Sport (RS) option had a gap in the D91 stripe (like the SS cars) for the RS emblems. On non-SS and non-RS cars, there was no gap in the stripe. Pinstriping was not available as an RPO, but was included with Style Trim or Rally Sport.

Restoration / Re: D80 Spoiler Trunk Lid Sealing Tape
« on: May 26, 2022, 10:56:12 PM »
FWIW, My April (C) LOS pacer had tape when I did  a Fluff of the incorrect painted Lip of the trunk lid, & I scraped this strange tape that I thought was put on during a 1981 repaint. Just a story as I never thought it held any significance in 1995.

I have a Friend Craig that has a unrestored 04 LOS Pacer (Off the Grid) guy but I am not sure I can get him to pull the spoiler.

Might also be the VIN decal that would normally be applied to the Drives door.

Decoding/Numbers / Re: 1968 z/28 pitman arm
« on: May 09, 2022, 03:05:27 AM »
CRG INFO
"68
The 3908391 long pitman arm was used in 68 Z28's. Other 68 Camaros used the 3935075, 5.25" long, pitman arm (both manual and power steering). The idler arm for 68 was 3917581, 5.25" long."

Chick did this get figured out, My 68 Manual Z also has the 075 & from the .net thread quoted 'others' have reported the same.

*IVEGOTALL3*

It could be your 69 falls within a range of 1969 Camaro (NOR) VINS they lack data for?
