i was recently assembling the 302 for my z and noticed that on the top of the block behind the intake there is a hole about 1 1/2 inch in diameter and to the left of it there is a 3/8ths threaded hole. what is this used for? this is not the hole for the distributor, the intake does not cover it. usually there is a smaller hole there for a oil preasure line. any ideas?

Restoration / seam sealer
« on: November 10, 2008, 07:21:23 PM »
hello everybody. just a little update on my 67 z. im at the point where everything is ready to start seam sealing but what i need to know is where was it aplied and how it was aplied. the interior of the car still had all the original sealer on before i started to clean it out. i documented where it was and how it was aplied. but the exterior and underneith of the car was missing all the sealer. so question is , does anyone have information or know where i can get the info i need to finish this step. any info is greatly apreciated. and thanks in advance.

Decoding/Numbers / Re: manual steering box
« on: May 07, 2008, 02:15:38 AM »
ya i am restoring but i have yet to find a rebuild kit. as for the adjusting, in the photo, where you can see into the steering box, there is a cover over that with 3 bolts and a threaded rod with a slot and a nut. this rod adjust the gears into mesh with each other. and the nut locks it into place. if the rod is already threaded in all the way the gears are worn out and need replacing or repair.
