198  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / crossram questions on: September 30, 2011, 07:25:45 AM
Lasy night after reading some in Jerry,s 69 Z and SS book I noticed he says crossrams were not shipped in the trunk but were dealer over the counter items. It also says dealers probably did not install them because it voided the warranty. It made me think that I don,t recall seeing a window sticker, POP, or dealer invoice with the crossram on it. I see ads and show plaques saying original crossram car. Were there any? Hi po parts I bought over the counter in the 60,s and 70,s usually came with a yellow carbon hand written by the counter guy. If so how would you say original crossram car? Also could the hood come with the car or was it over the counter only?

Ed, I just reread your reply. I guess an over the counter part  would have a part # since they would not be aftermarket.     Thanks

Thanks Ed,
I was going by by the Cars and Parts Catalog of Chevy V-8 Engine Casting Numbers 55-93 and stamped numbers which says on page 84 that Holleys without a part # are aftermarket. It shows pictures of with and without and says the part # is usually 7 digits and usually over the list # which mine is.

202  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Decoding/Numbers / Holley Carb on: September 27, 2011, 03:57:20 PM
All you decoders out there. I found a Holley carb List 1850, dated 392, # 5752426. My book goes back to 64 and this appears to be a late 63 or early 64. Anyone can help?

Members,
My car on the home page will not be there long. I was hoping some PA members might remember it.

I too have run pump gas in my 11 to 1 without harden seats for years with no problems. But it sure is fun to through in about 5 gallons of race fuel.
205  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Green car on home page on: September 06, 2011, 02:45:58 PM
Members,
The green car on the home page is mine. I have the owner history back to 1977. A J Rossell purchased it in Olyphant PA at that time. It was metal flake black then and was  repainted by Durbs Auto Body in Hazelton in 77. I think it was always a PA car. It is a L78 automatic with black standard interior, no tack, no guages. It is a 12a car but was first PA titled in 8/69. If anyone remembers it and can help track any previous owners it would be greatly appreciated. Mr Rossell cannot remember which has stopped my search. My e-mail is kwk@kbeco.net        Thanks

207  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: we need to stop the fraud on ebay - on: August 30, 2011, 07:29:34 AM
Guys, Although many adds are fraud, I feel that many are just lack of knowledge. I go to shows where people really believe their X11 is a true Z because thats what they were told when they bought it. I have seen countless (L78s) that clearly were not but the owners were positive that they were. For most of us this is a hobby but for some it is a business. It is a buyer beware situation and CRG and Team Camaro are free tools that buyers should use. When looking for my Z28 years ago I think I spent more time researching than I did shopping.

When replacing the non original cowl hood on my Ralley Green laquer SS, I could not find laquer paint. We did the camera thing and mixed Chroma and it did not match at all. We switched to another brand and it did match but you can still tell it is different paint.

In a world full of Huggers,Garnets, and Blacks. I think this color is appealing and different.
