The build sheet if you have it.

Actually I think it means poor casting, poor plating, and poor painting but still in the GM blue and white box.

My Z28 or my L78 neither have factory gauges.

On my 12A car most parts in the 2 week prior range.

Don,t forget the headlight dimmer switch and it,s terminals. They are in a perfect place to corrode.

Good Luck
204  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Restoration / Re: Trunk Lid Reproduction on: January 27, 2011, 07:59:42 AM
I bought two from classic. Neither fit well. I finally took the best and with 4x4 wood blocks adjusted the crown and then had to hammer the hinge bolt locations to get a decent fit. I noticed on my original lid it appeared that the hinge mounts had been hammered originally. If you try a used one shake it well. They rust inside and sellers will prime them and call them rust free.

By the way the fenders have to come off to change the emblems.
206  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: 1969 Z-28 X77 NoTach on: January 25, 2011, 08:41:44 AM
There is an original owner X77 in NC with no tach, no console, no gauges. My 69 X33 has no console or gauges with a center tach but for some reason is a RS. It is documented in several books when equipment requirements were changed in 69. The option price usually changed also.
207  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: T350 Flexplate with a stamping . . . on: January 20, 2011, 09:39:02 AM
Isn,t  the 400 small block externally balanced? I think the flex plate and harmonic balancer do it.
208  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Best Selling Paint Color on a 1969 Z/28 on: January 18, 2011, 09:18:58 AM
I think the question is what sells the best today, not what sold the best. I think Hugger Orange seems to be the hot color now on non original color cars. But I prefer the color on the trim tag.
209  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: What other steering columns will fit 1969 Camaro? on: January 13, 2011, 02:28:50 PM
I bought a tilt column some years from a guy whose company name was GM Tilt. The inside parts looked different but exterior and connections were exact. I installed it and plugged in the wiring, the connector matched, but the wiring was wrong. Turn signals were crossed up with something else. I called him and he new exactly which wires to move. During this I asked where he found enough colunms to run a business and he said he got the colunms from Novas, Venturas, and Oldsmobile Omegas. He said mine was an Oldsmobile unit because of the wiring difference but you would never know by looking. I still have the non tilt original if someone needs one.

NC runs a report on all out of state titles on 1972 and older cars before issuing a NC title. But all they will tell you is that the car or it,s engine or trans is not listed as stolen.
