196  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Mild Modifications / Re: headers and original A/C on: July 03, 2012, 12:04:52 PM
The power steering is easy. Just a spacer for the bolt that would go against the exhaust. Don,t know about the A/C.
197  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Fake 69 Olympic Gold Z is back on the market on: June 26, 2012, 07:16:32 AM
I think someone should buy it for 40,000 and put Hookers and Flowmasters on it and drive the thing. If someone wanted to buy it tell them what you know or don,t. It looks to be a nice ride.
198  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Maintenance / Re: Oil on intake gasket on: June 14, 2012, 12:52:15 PM
Looks to me that the heads might have been milled some. Then the intake ends sit on the block with little or no gasket space. One of my cars leaked after several gasket changes. After using no end gaskets and just silicone sealer, no leaks.
199  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: video of the camaro 67 presentation in France on: June 14, 2012, 12:45:33 PM
Pretty 67 rs doors were electric not vacuum.
200  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Original Drivetrains on: June 05, 2012, 03:07:38 PM
I think 10% is a little high. Out of all the 60,s muscle cars I have had all the way back to the seventies, I don,t think I have ever owned an original drivetrain car. Junk yard drivetrains were the way to go back then.
201  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: 1969 Camaro - Could you order a clock on a column shift non-console car? on: May 10, 2012, 10:35:28 AM
My 69 has speedo, center fuel guage, and tach with no console. If it had a clock and tach there is no where for the fuel guage without the console. Also note that this setup has only temp and oil lights.
202  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Mild Modifications / Re: Reproduction AM/FM quality? on: April 23, 2012, 03:11:23 PM
For guys with 69,s Ausley Chevelles in NC sells 69 chevelle unit (exactly like the camaro for $299.00. Looks and sounds great, only thing is the display is digital but you can only tell if it is on. I had 2 others converted by the Florida guys which kept the original AM dial which looks good you just have to preset FM channels. I hear the same outfit makes all the units and others buy their parts.
203  Orphans - documentation or VIN-stamped drivetrains - in search of the original cars / 1969 - Orphans / Re: 1969 JH code 396 375 HP Camaro L78 Engine on: April 16, 2012, 03:03:15 PM

204  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Restoration / Re: Engine Block Decked, Stamp Codes Gone... on: March 22, 2012, 09:43:15 AM
My brother bought a 66 vette 427 date coded but a restamp. He bondoed over it because he did not want to hear, is that the original block? or hey that looks like a restamp.
205  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Decoding/Numbers / Re: Cowl Tag Question on: March 15, 2012, 02:42:15 PM
I think HC is a 350 250HP 2 barrel. Others will chime in for a full decode.
206  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Restoration / Re: Dash Pad Restoration on: March 06, 2012, 04:01:03 PM
If you had another pad or a good picture to see where the nuts are it is not hard to remove because if you know where the nuts are you can feel them where they are hard to see. Using clamps and adhesive and care you can improve the looks a lot.
207  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Concerns With Decking The Block Question I Need Your Help on: March 06, 2012, 03:54:33 PM
I hear performance a lot. A stock Z motor or L78 has more in it than tires that fit can take. Unless you do some serious mods for traction that extra performance just creates MORE tire smoke. IMO
208  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: 1969 Big Block Runs Hot Camaro on: February 29, 2012, 09:45:06 AM
Another simple try is the aftermarket additives. After a new pump and several fans after a cam change it knocked my temp down about 10 degrees. You can also get a themal digital laser at harbor Freight for about 25 bucks to check your guage and look for hot spots. It was in one of the mags. I bought one and it is a must have thing.
209  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Mild Modifications / '69 Camaro 12 Bolt Noise on: February 22, 2012, 08:24:36 AM
If the axle is hard to remove, I hook a chain to the lugs and the other end around a sledge hammer. They make an axle puller but the chain works.
210  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Mild Modifications / Re: 14x7 to 15x7 Rally Wheel Swap... on: February 22, 2012, 08:20:15 AM
FW,s are everywhere. They work on camaros fine. I have 2 with them now.
