I know someone who has a complete 68 system. Not sure if it is the same as 67. But it worked when removed. PM me if you need.

The recall cables attached to the exhaust manifold to the frame, not the mounts.

Check your lamp filaments. There are two in parking, turn signal lamps. If they heat up and touch weird things can happen.

I have drilled a lever for a back up switch. If they are like mine was they do not drill well.

Close the headlights by hand. The car will look better. With the engine you show you probably will not have enough vac for them to work. I like Dover White too.

My wife has never complained about the shifter, although I have several cars. If you want to do something original have Danny.s Transmissions in Greensboro NC rebuild you original unit. He has done several for me including my 69 Z. Unless she is trying to lower her ET (then you need a straight line which is not fun on the street) she should be happy. Be proud you have a partner that can and wants to drive a 4 speed.

General Discussion / Re: Trying to close deal on 69 Camaro-Title Issues
« on: August 23, 2016, 06:41:53 PM »
NC titles can be notarized out of someones name but not notarized into the new owners name at that time. I think it is called an open title. I did something similar a while back and met the deceased,s spouse at DMV and she had a legal doc allowing her to sign. Since we were both there no problems.

General Discussion / Re: 396/425HP?????
« on: August 22, 2016, 06:30:34 PM »
I read the article mentioned. I too believe it is possible if not likely. I also believe from the factory all were not equal. I have owned several L78,s and hipo smallblocks and some we just called ( a strong engine). I presently have a 69 CE L78 with factory intake ,carb, cam, and headers and it is one of the better ones I have had and really do not know why. I still have a 365HP 327 that always ran ok, but after bending a rod years ago I had a pro do the longblock. We dropped the comp to 10.0 to 1 for gas and he installed a different cam. I could not believe the seat of the pants loss even though he balanced it. Afraid the compression change did it, I on a Sunday afternoon put the old cam back in. It felt as if it gained 50+ hp. I am a believer that the 365 distributer, 2828 Holley, cam, and 202 heads were a team that worked together. I still drive it today.
