General Discussion / Re: How did you all get more power out your 327
« on: June 14, 2023, 12:13:13 PM »
I agree that the heads are the holdback now. With what you have done so far I think I would go with the 2.02 valve heads. They would look original and are not that hard to find. Get someone to do a good valve job before installing and you should feel the difference.

If it had white interior I would have to have it. I have seen so many red or black cars I really enjoy something different.

He is right, you can see the groove the retainer locks on. Does the winner get a prize?

I run 91 in my L78 but she sure likes a few gallons of the 110 mixed in. My wife hates the smell. My Holley has been rebuilt to take ethanol.

My brothers 302 Z has chambered exhaust . Looks cool but sounds like crap to me. When you back off the gas sounds like 2 4 cylinder Hondas with straight pipes.

I bet FW,s are what are on most cars you see on the road. Easy to find, look correct on the car.

I think AGM are a waste of money. Get a good lead acid and take care of it . It will last a long time.

If JM,s report confirms it is a real Z28 I think 40 is a little short. It is hard to find a 1st gen where the rust is gone or never existed that drives for  little less than 40 much less a Z. I see two numbers in the vin area also.

Last I heard it a little over 1k plus travel. If you check his schedule and wait for him to be in town you save or get several done and split the travel and expenses . Maybe this guy paid for travel and expenses just for one car. You also need a place with lift for him to do it. His place is in VA or Maryland so east coasters can just take the car to him.

Learn something new everyday.I also ways wondered how the guage handled current flowing through it. Now I understand that it does not flow at all.

It looks like a nice driver car much like mine. The guy needlessly bashes JM saying he did not do his job and keeps on doing it. The paperwork looks like a bunch of paper to me nothing significant to the car. If I wanted another driver I would make an offer but not from this guy.

The painter replaced the window motors in my Firebird while the car was apart with repop s . Wished he had not done it. Much slower than the originals.

My L78 runs ok on pump 93 but it does diesel some when you turn it off. Mix in a gallon of two of purple gas and it sures does run better and no dieseling. I don,t run it too hard since with stock size tires it likes to break them loose at any speed. Stock except headers.

Never trust a JL8 car when the seller mispells brakes (breaks) lol
