William, is this where the parts were shipped with car prior to the notice? And available over counter after? Referring to the (shipped in the trunk) story.

To me this car is just a collection of nice or rare parts and certainly not worth big bucks to me. I owned and totaled an original 67 L78 chevelle in the 70,s and swapped the drive train and interior into another SS body. The car is owned by a friend now and I think I still have the title for the original car but I see no reason to create a pile of rare parts with repop tags.

If you are going racing fine. If not just more moving parts to fail. I wonder if JM runs them on his 67  302 race car?

Garage Talk / Re: Bored with LS swaps?

A friend and I went to a large cars and coffee (couple hundred cars) saturday and there were so many LS swaps I felt out of place in his big block C10 truck.

Originality / Re: '67-'69 Trunk Lid to Hinge Shims
« on: April 21, 2021, 12:21:41 PM »
My 12A norwood 69 had shims which were lost after disassembly. We had to shim it when we put it back together after paint. Used regular body shims.

I go with the Buick. A friend had a 70 and I had a 73. In 73 none of the cars had any power but my Stage 1 455 made you forget it was 1973. It was a black with white interior Century (Skylark) with power everything. I traded it in for a new 78 Caprice. I understand now that they only made about 600 Stage 1,s that year. All I have now is a picture and my exwife is in it.

Mild Modifications / Re: EFI - Stick With Carb

EFI is like a lot of things today, great when they work but difficult to find someone work on if not. A friend with a modified LS conversion had 3 "tuners" try, replaced the intake manifold "$800 used part" to stop it from fouling plugs. First tuners charged for their work saying they found problems and finally the 4th tuner got it right. Several weeks and lot of bucks.

Just asking, did they install new side bearings, ect? Was it quiet before? Did they check the axle bearings when they pulled the axles? Just thoughts.

should be cortez silver, picture looks blue

Some of the restorations or facelifts on these cars were done so long ago they start looking "original".

I recently read an article that says if 66% of US vehicles were electric the US electricity generation would have to double and most likely would peak at night when solar does not work. I consider myself as "green" as most with 62 solar panels at my home but math is math. We have a long way to go unless one of us invents a new battery or new power generator. I wouldn,t ditch your gas cars too soon.

Maintenance / Re: Warranty Paperwork

Like today when cars were traded in dealers, wholesalers, and used cars lots most times did not want the past owners name to be known to the new owner. They went through cars and removed anything concerning the former owners information. They still do it. I recently traded in a 3 year old pickup in perfect condition and offered to talk to any future buyer to let them know why I traded it. It is still on their lot as of 2 weeks ago since Thanksgiving. No calls. I tracked one of my 69,s back 4 owners to 1977, then that owner said he bought it off a used car lot, dead end.

Kind of pricey unless you account for the number of cars it took to build that one.
