I would pull the trans. Could be pilot bushing, release bearing, transmission, or you could luck up  and the transmission bolts be loose. Have you checked the trans oil level?

What car do you plan to run them on Danny?

Those wheels came in those finishes. I can,t remember if it was a time period difference or a selection but it is factory.

if you painted the aluminum engine parts and the radiator it would almost look original. I have been working with the original AC on my triple black pontiac Trans AM (aka HOT) and vintage air starts looking better every 95 degree day. Saving original parts is a plus as the next owner can put them back.

Restoration / Re: Restoration Shops - Body and Paint in Maryland

The last car I had done the shop had it media blasted and then revised their estimate. More rust appeared after the blasting and we were able get a better parts list and time estimate. The shops owner recently retired so I really don,t have anyone to recommend. Good luck.

The corvette guys years ago said if the car has no docs assume it is fake. To me a "born with" drivetrain car is just a different a different car altogether. On this car I would think maybe 30% down if you knew an average price.

If JM,s report says it is a real RSZ28 even with a "correct" drivetrain it is a sharp car. A little adjustment on the price and it would be a nice cruise in car. Then the buyer could join the group of us in search of the born with parts.

They made so few 69 Trans Ams that is a tuff question. The 70 ram air GTO,s have been all over the place price wise for a few years.

Just another nice collection of parts made to look like a blue Z28.

When I look at a car that does not have the original color my first thought is the cost to change it. Even if I don,t care for the original color. Just my 2 cents.

Looks like the factory pipe has less than 90 degrees of bend. The repop appears to have full 90 degrees.

You could run the firebird VIN through PHS just to see what comes up.

If that weld popped off about 6K it sure would be messy. I might would get a really sharp welder to look at it.

I drove a 69 TA that was on a used car lot during the gas crisis that had about 60k miles on it. I remember it riding like it had no springs. I think the price was $900.

I guess the price is in line with the collection of parts with a transfered ZL1 vin tag.
