Could be the starter but you might want to verify your timing marks, ect. If the balancer or timing cover has been replaced your timing might be off. Back off your timing a little and try it. It is simple and free.

Without docs I would consider it a clone. Not many of those would have been dealer stock or traded at a used car lot. The second ebay add looks like a clone a Z06 kit, add body and frame and stir well. Before the clone a Z and L78 camaro, the clone a vette was the big thing. I have never driven a Z06 but my 64 with the metallic power brakes is borderline dangerous until they warm up. A owner would know and remember having it. But even if, the car has big value just in the parts.

I think Ed is on the money. A clean body and interior with any drive train around here is 30 ish, add a real L78, 4 speed, 12 bolt, and other SS goodies. But I would make sure the vin tags and stamps are right. If it was another color ( not red) I would be calling.

If they blasted the underside you may never get the sand out from behind the bracing. Used ones are out there.

Z06 had some very specific options. The corvette site probably lists them. These cars were cloned a lot in the 80,s and 90,s like the big block mid years so a "real" one is hard to spot without docs. Being a charter member of our local corvette group I years ago knew a lot by memory but not now. I don,t recall seeing the dual line MC and my 64 with power metallic brake option does not have it but it is not a Z06. Most I have seen did not have radios or heaters but I am sure there were some made. Very rare car if it is real.

Add 2 cents on the water pump. Rebuild is bearing, seal, never saw a worn out impeller.

Not real sure about the dates but the hole in the block as late as 64 went to a "road draft tube" down the back with a filtered oil fill cap. It was supposed to draw air out the tube as the car moved and in the oil cap. Later the hole attached to air cleaner and a hose with an inline PCV went to the oil fill with a non vented cap. In 68 the hole in the block disappeared and the fitting in the oil fill. The holes in the valve covers appeared then with the PVC and the vent to the air cleaner. Not sure why my 64 283 impala had the draft tube but my 64 327 vette had the air cleaner fitting and the closed oil fill with PCV hose.

Hakan,Where is the video of you lighting up the tires? Just leave in drive, hold the brake a little til it breaks loose, my L78 will actually shift into second while doing it. Doing it lights up my day (2). Nice job on all of it.

A little late for the wheels but they look good. It says block decked but wouldn,t the vin be by the oil filter?

Most of them are known through this site and others research. I think it is worth the money to try.

I would not ask anyone. Pictures of camaros are everywhere. If the picture is of YOUR car do what you want with it.

Agreed on the 327 275HP. I had one years ago and the power was surprising. When you kick in that big Quadrajet they really come alive.

I have an old Dixco myself. It still works fine. Came with a timing light in a set. The timing light was to dim for aging eyes so I did upgrade to an adjustable.
