Does the car require a restoration? 68 are bastard years and without original documentation to show a timeline, it’s difficult at best.

What's difference between documenting a 68 vs a 69 van nuys car, or first 4 months of Norwood production car, or any car with a questionable trim tag?

If you are using an X code or group 4 code as the sole documentation of a first gen, you get what you deserve.

JFStoltz, not sure what you think is a short turn around. What is the date on your trim tag?

Original dashpads look and fit like this:

Oh, I see... I know you should not see the rivets. So the dash isn't pulled over far enough? Are those rivets correct GM?... D

Rivets should be the rosette type, installed from the bottom, so you can't tell in this picture.

MANY issues besides the block. Check out the dash VIN plate. Danny

I don't see anything wrong with the VIN tag, rivets, or how it's mounted. The dashpad however, should be covering the back of the rivets. Thats a dashpad issue.

Any truth or confirmed source for the Facebook rumor I saw that he passed away?

There is no actual door buzzer. The buzzing is accomplished by back feeding the horn relay. What you are looking for is a horn relay. Hope that helps you search.

This person claims CRG has a report on his car stating his 69 was shipped to Canada new without a motor or tranny.

The thread is not closed. The OP in question wrote that title, and he keeps changing the title many times to add to confusion.

It's just an unstable person talking about a CRG report on foreign production. Thread will get deleted soon, as the person he is arguing with is a long term moderator.

That is almost surely a 1 of 1 car. Low option, yet with very expensive AC and odd colors.

Is there a succession plan? I think a lot of us are getting older and I wonder what happens when.....

Still a valid question - what happens when ….

10 years ago did A BUNCH of work to the convertible 124679N567808. I sectioned in the dash, the outer wheel houses, trunk drop, and painted the car.
Here is a link to the album of photos when I did the car (2013) for a customer in Charlotte NC. He traded it to Rick Hendrick and Rick had Jerry do a report on the car.
I was pretty well pleased with how it turned out and really pleased when I saw what Jerry had written.

Great job on the body work. 10 years later it's described and certified as a rare survivor!

In terrific "survivor" condition the Camaro looks to have had only one repaint during its life in the original Cortez Silver with black rally striping. Mr. MacNeish stated in his inspection report that "it appears that this Camaro has been kept in a rust-free garage over the past 47 years. The complete sub frame, control arms, rear axle, floors and interior are in very good condition and show no signs of age, pitting, rust or repair. The body on this car is extremely straight and un damaged."

Thanks. It’s Island Teal and I really prefer it on the black wheels but that’s only my opinion

Your car, your opinion is all that matters. Looks great either way!

Not many original paint Grotto Blue cars around. Looks great, but needs matching blue wheels IMHO.

Thanks rocco but no thanks, he wants twice as much as it's worth.

Jerry
Chucks ad says willing to trade, so maybe he thinks the one you have is worth twice what you think it is.
