That interior looks blue to me. carpet may be black. have another look.

Someone removed that tag, hand stamped X33 on it and re attached it. All on a tag that is too early for an X code. Believe it or not, that is not the first time I have seen that.

The STAMP is fairly convincing.

Yes it is. I am just surprised that an insurance company has a block stamp kit. This picture is described as "Rented factory engine block stamp kit" Why do they know where to rent a block stamp kit and what else do they use it for? Anyone surprised you can rent these?

Bad broach marks, wrong size pad, and stamps not next to each other horizontal. Other than that, they could have made a pretty convincing re-stamp. The knowledge and tools are out there.

I am pretty sure they did a poor job on purpose. This is the Farmers insurance car that is half stock and half modified and they use it at major car shows as a display. maybe some of you have seen it.

I have seen it in person, but never realized they used the modified side to show poor workmanship vs the stock side to show correct. The left side is the original side, and the right side is the modified side. Since the pad stamp is on the right side, they must be showing fake stamps. They also show the gang stamper they used.

This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro RS convertible was built at the State Farm Vehicle Research Facility as a half-and-half “Jekyll and Hyde” car for training purposes and PR display. The driver’s side of the car is a high-quality restoration to correct factory-stock specs. The passenger side is a customized street machine with lots of flashy aftermarket parts and custom bodywork, but deliberately less-exacting craftsmanship.

In addition to serving as an eye-catching car-show display piece, this car was built by State Farm employees who love their cars, enjoy restoring cars and have fun working on cars both personally and professionally. This 1968 Camaro is being used to educate State Farm field agents on the special challenges of assigning proper values to collector cars and owner-modified vehicles. This knowledge enables the agents to accurately assess value and correctly underwrite such special-case vehicles.

There is also another mistake on the car that I think they did NOT do on purpose. The RS side of the car is missing the proper moldings, but the modified side has it.

Ok, this is a bit of a trick question. I know the stamp is a fake. I am just curious if it was done so bad on purpose to prove a point, or if they think it looks genuine. It is on an insurance company display vehicle

General Discussion / Re: WHAT KIND OF 67 CAMARO IS THIS?
« on: July 29, 2018, 04:00:38 PM »
VIN indicates an 8 cylinder coupe.
Engine and transmission pictured are not original
Under hood looks far from stock, as does paint and wheels. Grill looks like an RS, but is missing a lot of RS trim pieces.
10 bolt rear end looks original and indicates it was not an SS.

I had a friend pester me for one of my cars, so I eventually relented and sold it to him. Now I get to drive it when I visit him in Florida.

Depending how many cars you are restoring and how much time and energy you have, the only way you may ever get to drive this one is to sell it to a friend.

Did you buy this car advertised as an all original car and pay a premium price?

Blue car.  Ebay reuses/redirects links now with other cars for sale once the auction is over.
The trim tag shows the bronze? And there's a pic of the door jamb that looks bronze, the description says black? And the pic looks blue or green? Lol that's why I'm asking.

You are still looking at the wrong car. Did you read where Ebay changes the link after the auction is over? This is the car:

Originality / Re: 1969 camaro 307 1 owner car ?
« on: July 16, 2018, 07:34:11 PM »
Darrell,I say seen that meaning as i read it! I as a novice could/probably  get a different interpretation then what is meant! I have no problem googling and reading but the meaning, definition and interpretation that I get is probably different than what is meant  so I rely on the experts opinion not to steer me wrong rather than what i read/see
 X11* non-SS396, non-Z28,
      includes SS350

X11 means it could have been a 6 cyl, base V8, or SS350 and it would of had the style trim. Style trim could of been part of the RS package or ordered separately.

On this car it means base V8 with style trim, no RS

Not a Z/28 or Yenko. Just a 1969 Camaro produced in Caracas, Venezuela

OK I see what you mean now. The houndstooth seat covers would have come with molded door panels, so they are most likely not original. Probably a 711 code interior.
