Reply 163-reference head marking Marty has labeled #15.
Question or remark on screw #3846202 screw/bolt with supplier #15.
I checked numerous original #3846202 and could not find that #15 configuration.
Then I found a bag of new #3846202 screws that have that head marking.
Note the 15 on the picture (bag) below is what they cost, $15...
Just a concern #15 supplier type might not be be correct.
Can anyone confirm they have an original #3846202 wtih #15 head markings?

I have a list of hardware by part#/page but not quite complete. When finished I will add to this thread.
Started going through much of the extra hardware we have from our 68 and other donor Camaro's.
First up, part #9780422. Checked each one for who made and there were only three.
The picture shows 13, 9, & 10 pcs but I found 10 more 9780422 screws and they were a mix 2, 3, & 5 making
the total of the three head markings left to right 15, 12, and 15.
Small sample but statisically very even distribution. Used Marty's sheet to show who made the screws.
Can anyone confirm what supplier markings are on the AMK #9780422 supplied screw?

69 AIM p146 UPC 11-13 B3 calls out two different screws for that support bar.
Support bar to fender screw #3960314, support bar to rad. support screw #3846202 (hard to read in our AIM).
Happened across this quite by accident as a friend asked me to phosphate a few screws.
As it turned out they were for the support bars from the fender to the radiator support.
Told me his restored 69 had pointed screws and Brian Henderson told him they should not be pointed.
So he took the ones out from another non-restored 69 he had. I told him I was not aware of this but would check our 69.
Sure enough our 69 has the non-pointed screws as well so I check our 69 AIM vs. our 68 AIM.

68 AIM p142 UPC 11-13 B3 calls out screw #9780122 both ends.
Our 69 is a 10D (Oct. 69) but not sure of the build date of my friends donor 69.
The #3846202 in both cases are a non-pointed 5/16-18 X 9/16 lg with 3/4" captured washer.
Please note the two to the left are our 10D screws and my friends all had the same 'D' type mfg. screws.
I assume they made changes from 68 to 69 due to possible wiring in that area of the rad. support.

Sorry but I wrote the pn wrong! The screw in question is #3846201 and not #3846202.
Under UPC 11-13 B3 it is screw #8 and screw #9 is #3846202.
I was referencing what I believe to be the non-pointed #3846201.
Can others confirm the 201 is a non-pointed 5/16-18 X 9/16 lg with 3/4" captured washer?

Have this posted on the 68 fastener page as well as it covers both.
Washer bottle bracket screws #9420415 UPC 1 A4 68 AIM p38 69 AIM p28
Screws are from three different Camaros and each set of 3 have the same mfg. screw.
Left screw from our 01B 68, middle screw from our late 10D 69, and right screw from 69 donor.

Sure did help Mike so thank you for the great pics and John for clarifying the spatter paint!
Now what has me a little bewildered relates to the retainers/washers Mike displayed vs. the AIM calling out the same part number, #5544049. Does anyone have info on that part #? I do not remember any original retainers with the nut hex indented in the retainer but that means next to zero ;D Thanks again Mike and John!

FYI...

Jerry is a true professional!  He was awesome to deal with.  Sent my radio to him 3 weeks ago.  I have it back already and it works great!  He's everything Chick said and more.
Great guy.

Thanks for the recommendation Chick.

Your welcome Bob!  Yep, Jerry is a first class guy for sure.
I can hear the music now :)

Did not intend to have a double post. Lost my internet connection and thought it did not go only to find out it did.
My apologies!  :-[  Tried to delete one but it will not let me.......

I thought this was one of our original shock retainers (one on the right).
Still has the trunk spatter on it but it measures 1.5" in diameter??
Other originals I have have similar design bur measure in that 1 3/8" ballpark (1.390").
Now I'm not so sure it was off our 68 but have no idea where else it would have come from???
Has anyone observed or have these 1.5" shock retainers/washers?
The AIM calls out the same part# shock retainer for the front and rear shocks.

Identified screw #3846202 5/16-18 X 3/4" lg w/captured washer 3/4" dia.
Did not complete entire AIM search but this screw is found on pages 61, 63, 73, 144, 145
Would love to note what others have found pertaining to their #3846202.
The picture of these two screws came out of our 68 01B NOR built Camaro.

Here is our orig. rear brake bracket where these screws are used.

The good news, AMK sells the same exact screw under G4348 but that is only for two.
Anyone have a AMK catalog to review bulk order AMK part #'s?

In an effort to determine what would normally be considered the correct fastener for different applications this thread is being developed to coincide with similar threads for 67 (hopefully) and 69 Camaro fasteners.  For a preliminary on how this came about please review the birth in thread http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=9074.0 and http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=9130.0
This effort will need the support and creation of sorts of a "team" and I have volunteered to be the team scribe and a team member. This could be huge in benefits for all of us and for years to come. Let the investigation and data collection begin.
Please help  ;D

I agree Dave with what you submitted before and now 100% but hopefully more members will assist and get involved. And maybe we need to have a thread on Team Camaro also as they do have a lot of very active members and not everyone works both forums.
No doubt this is a very worthwhile project that could benefit the hobby immensely.

Actually I was happy to read your last sentence…here’s why; I am only familiar with the 69 AIM and I have no idea what the similarities are for each of the three years. Having said that, I think each year's data should be kept separate. If you agree, would you mind heading up the 68's data record keeping? This would mean keeping track of all the fasteners (screws, bolts, nuts, and washers & their PN’s) as they correspond to the AIM. If you agree, I will be more than happy to head up the same for the 69. That would only leave us someone for the 67.

Your thoughts?

Yes, I will assist with the 68 by being an active team member and team scribe! Oh boy, this is going to be interesting... By the way, two of my four #2 & #3 sub-frame mount bolts were pitted up and a member sent me his four from his Camaro since he was doing major susp. changes and his four were the exact same head markings. If I remember his car was a 67 that he purchased new and still owns.
