Can someone weigh in on the rivets? /s
It would seem someone placed a 68 trim tag on a 67 Camaro and used some ugly screws to fasten. Yikes.....

My chrome has show chrome on handles, bumpers, handles, etc. and I did not receive any deductions. NCRS does deduct for show chrome as our 68 had deduction for each bumper and distributor shield.

For your 68 the only correct PCV would be the spun valve design type CV736 IMO. Those are extremely difficult to find and in many cases if found, crazy prices.

When they did my mirror they took it apart, and it came back that way but was a non issue mating back together. Key would be how to exert enough force to pull apart using inline pressure. Possibly something like a plastic piece similar to a nail puller.

Good pic and since many other parts used the same paint one might want to have similar sheen or it will look out of place. I remember JohnZ stating they were dipped in semi-gloss lacquer primer.

Get a Can of Semi gloss Rustoleum
RUST-OLEUMŽ
1-Quart Semi-Gloss Black Brush-On Protective Enamel
Mfg.# 7798502 Sku# 4523528

on a warm day, dip paint the washers and Hang to dry, they will come out smooth and with factory like coverage

That's OK Jim if that paint matches but if sheen is off from his inner fenders it's going to stand out. Might want to find something that matches what you have.

Looking for someplace to recode some original locks and ignition lock cylinder . Anyone ? Jessers in Ohio ? thanks

Real locksmiths are difficult to find, I define these as the old school trade who understood vintage automotive locks. I tried a couple of locksmiths locally, wasn't satisfied with the work and eventually sent my lock set to Jessers for restoration. Their work is very good (expensive) and turnaround is reasonable (couple of weeks). They do a lot with the NCRS membership.
Boy am I lucky Lloyd.  Our local guy is a 2nd generation locksmith and is past retirement age but still at it. I could not find the keys to our 68 and he took care of it along with even stamping the inserts with the code just like originals. He even used the hand punch to cut the key as originals looked. As you said, they are becomng very hard to find. He takes care of us guys and is a car guy himself.

These are the easy to find cheap color matches I found when restoring hardware from our 68. I would call the one a salmon similar color.

Lynn, that's the set up I currently have , a repo battery, but it only had a 400 cca battery inside (surprised it had enough power to crank it over when it was cold out) but I'm on the fence as I'd like to have a battery with 700 to 800 cca's. Does the Braille battery have enough power. I read the specs and they advertised 550 cca
I use this battery in both our 427 and mouse Z/28. They have more than 500 cca and not an issue with turning the motors over.

Thank you for all of your resonses and time. It is final. Black I believe was the color. Now I will decide to go with Black Zinc oxide or the Manganese route. Thanks again.
Everyone I know including myself use the Manganese Phosphate for the black hardware. Not stating its the best, but know many using the Manganese and have good results. Also, you asked about dimensions and that one link I posted from my build thread gives the dimensions.

dang I'm losing it! I checked my pics and our original u bolts were dark and I did not re-do them or restore. I would call them manganese phosphate. Sorry for the confusion.

Yes Jim, it's an LOS plant detail that should be replicated for those who are having their car judged.  Norwood did not do this.
Hi Jon, as we know NOR dip painted the gas straps so they are black! It appears and I should have checked this out on the two 67 survivors at MCACN, but did LOS paint them or leave them bare with only coverage the blackout?
