Kevin

I think your throttle rod is correctly attached to the carb. Mine needs to come down to the lower hole and I need to get rid of the washer as that is not needed.

Heres a pic of a known NOS rod. 3293539. This is exactly how my original is.

Thanks Jonesy - appreciate the pics.

On the other side of the carb connection - is the rod held in by a C clip?

As for the rod itself - I have the 3923539 rod, but all I see are the slightly bent / straight ones (like the one you have) on most of the 4BBL cars.....so what is right?

Hope someone chimes in........
Nope, it has a cotter key with a washer..

Also the correct part number is 3923539. The parts houses carry this, but it is not a straight rod like mine, it has a couple of bends in it. I did find an NOS one that is straight like mine for sale on Yenko site.

Okay sorry for the delay in posting. Heres my throttle linkage. My car is a Van Nuys RS/SS 4 speed car NON Air conditioning car built 11B.

I believe this to be the original one that came on my car. I bought it in 1979 so it was 10 years old, but this was the setup on it then. Im not sure if its in the correct hole on the carb linkage. There are 3 to choose from. Also I know the spring is in the wrong location as it should be on the coil bracket instead of the spark plug wire stand.

Thats the latest one I know of, although the car is no longer with us :)

Better off finding a good used molding and using that. They should be fairly easy to find and a piece that really doesnt wear.

Thats a known date and I can see the lines. The G in the date looks off, but that could be the angle of the pic and some distortion.
A straight on pic would be better.
Heres a pic of one I used to own
