http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevrolet-Camaro-1969-Chevy-Camaro-Z-28-RS-X-11-Very-Rare_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6161QQihZ002QQitemZ120090620710QQrdZ1

There is a seller on ebay claiming he has had Jerry M. inspect this car and it has a DZ engine. Says it's the only X11 z/28 made?

Sorry, but I am not buying it.

Sounds like they are LOS tags. Are you sure they arent LOS tags? Thats the Fisher body scheduling code for LA Plant.

10A149042 is the VIN derivative of the car this engine came out of.
1= Chevrolet
0= 1970
A= Atlanta Assembly Plant
149042= last 6 digits of the VIN

Atlanta built Chevelles and ElCaminos

It was also used in very late 69's. I have documented several of these cars.

I have had it for 2 years. It has the original trans and rear. I am still working on getting my original block for this car.
It is out in Oak Harbor WA in a machine shop. Hopefully I will get it someday. I cant get anyone to cooperate so far.
I have the heads, intake, exhaust manifolds, smog and carb. Its been off the roads since about 1976 or so. 4.88 factory rear.
Probably not the most streetable car. Nantucket Blue, Black Vinyl, Rally Sport, Headrest seats, Shoulder belts, Deluxe belts, Console, guages, wood wheel.

My 67 came with one originally and it will be put back on it when I restore it. Nantucket Blue, Black top, White stripes orignally. Kind of wish the stripes and top were the same color.

Decoding/Numbers / Re: Intake casting number

They used the letter "I" for casting date on intakes. "I" was Sept so your intake is dated Dec 2, 1968

Great job. The toughest thing to replicate is the factory undercoating in the rear wheel wells.
I chipped all mine out and found the factory color of my car under my undercoating just like you did.
Mine is a 69 LOS car 11B.

Going on memory, I thought it was towards the front of the assembly manual where it shows sticker placement.

John

I am pretty sure it's in there. Either that or I went by pics of existing cats that I thought were done correctly.
I will have to look it up to find it.

I think that is fine for your cars build.

Jerry

This may not be related in any way, but there was an engine on ebay awhile back N513559 V0928DZ with I 24 8 casting.
I have the info in my personal database with no notes on it. Looks like that engine was sold a couple years or so ago.

I wonder if CRG has that in their database?
