Arno -

I just peeked under my dash and yes there is an orange wire with a black plastic connector as you describe going to the tach terminal.

Paul, could you post those pics here for all to see?

Joe -

My photos are too large (file size) to post here.  If you PM me, I will email you the photos.  I just emailed some photos to Mike (68rs327conv) after he sent me a PM.   Smiley

I just took a look at my '68Z which also has a tic toc tach.  Mine is wired like this:

Positive side of the coil = black & white wire (ballast) + yellow wire

Negative side of coil = brown wire

What Kurt means is to get the "numbers" off the rear axle in the car.  Once you have these numbers, someone here can tell you if the rear axle is original (or could be) and possibly what transmission came in the car.  To find these numbers read this link:

http://www.camaros.org/drivetrain.shtml#RearAxleNumbers

Good luck.   Smiley

Ron -

The 3858326 casting number is correct for the '67 and '68 Z/28 per Jerry MacNeish's book.  Just make sure the date code on it is correct for your 03B car.  Other casting numbers were also used.  For example, my '68Z's water pump has casting number 3859326 on it.  Good luck.   Smiley

I must assume booster date codes were Julian dates?  What is a "108" date code on a "9204", the 108th day of 69 or 4/18/1969?
My car is a 05A Norwood car.

Thanks,

Dave
