4216  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: 68 Z reverse linkage on: November 09, 2007, 06:07:19 PM
Does anyone know which of the 2 setups are correct for a 68 Z?  My repro stuff doesn't fit my Muncie.  Which reverse lever is correct?  Does the reverse swith and mount go like the first picture or the second?  Thanks.

68Z -

My Van Nuys built '68 Z/28's back-up lamp switch, bracket, and linkage is set up like your second illustration.  It's Muncie M21 is original (VIN stamped twice), as is all the related transmission components!    Smiley

Illustration like my car attached:

Good luck!

Any one have a picture of which front bumper guard goes to which side of the bumper ,also which top bracket goes to which side.

There are great illustrations along with measurements and torque specs in the '68 AIM.  See V31.

Anybody know how many of the 69 ZL-1 Camaros mfg in 1969 are accounted for? I assume there is a registry??

Jimmy -

This is copied and pasted from Bill Glowacki's CRG research report:

The complete listing of COPO 9560 Camaro VIN's has been public knowledge for almost 20 years (see the list in the Appendix). State title and registration information for most of this period was considered public domain and available to anyone sending the requisite fee. Perhaps for this reason it is known that 50 of the cars still exist. Of the remainder, some have old registration histories and may or may not still exist. Others were never registered for reasons that include being raced since new, stolen, or being sold in states that did not require titles at the time such as New York and Alabama. Some of these "missing" COPO 9560 Camaros probably do still exist, and could turn out to be quite a bargain for the knowledgeable enthusiast.

What projects have you got lined up for this coming winter??

Winter?    Huh    I just got back from a "street burn" on my sport bike.  There's nothing more fun than sliding the rear tire through the turns while passing your buddies!!    Grin    84 degress Fahrenheit today and not a cloud in the sky!    Cheesy

Which cars came with black and which ones came with polished metal. On the average what is the leeway between date of manufacture of belt and build date of car. Also are there a few specific dates or did they always produce them with a bunch of different dates. Thanks.
