4201  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Jerry, you're on Ebay! on: May 09, 2007, 10:37:41 PM
Hi Jerry -

I see you certified this Z/28.  What's your opinion of the car?  The seller claimed to have the Protect-O-Plate on his last auction, but there's no mention of it in this auction.  Did you get to inspect the Protecto-O-Plate?  Is this a good car to buy?

Here is a ragtop with that color combo. Can't see the tag but just a couple pics to look at.  http://cars-on-line.com/27617.html

Here's a second convertible (this one has a black top) with that color combo:

4204  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Decoding/Numbers / Re: Cylinder heads on: May 09, 2007, 08:37:32 PM
According to "Chevrolet by the Numbers 1965-69" the 3946074 casting number was used on these applications:

1969 Camaro 427/430 (ZL1)
1969 Corvette 427/430 (L88 & ZL1)

The footnote says this head was also used in 1971, but doesn't list the application(s), so be sure to check the casting dates.

I gather he thinks it's a "Real Z" because someone stuck a Z28 emblem on the grill.

Which wasn't even factory for the '68 model year!   Sad

BTW, I know what a Seadoo is.  But humor an old man, what does CBR9 mean?

My guess is Seadoo with a Honda CBR900 motorcycle engine in it!   Grin

Very cool!   Cool   Cool   Cool  That's the first one I've seen with those colors.  Are you going to restore it?

Paul,  to me it looks like the stripes on the D80 spoiler are painted wrong.  I don't think they are suppose to wrap around.

Tim

Tim -

You're correct.  The stripes on the header panel are painted wrong also.  It looks like a Chevelle.   Sad

Never!  Haven't you watched the movie "Mad Max"?   Grin

How about posting a picture...  I'd like to see what the black top looks like!

Phillip -

Here's what that color combination looks like:

What do you think?  Do you like it?

4215  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Are desirable Camaros becoming out of reach to the average person? on: May 08, 2007, 12:33:06 PM
Agreed $20 to $30K IS a lot of money - however look at the price of new cars. $30 won't even buy a top of the line model Toyota mini van. I know as I own 1 along with my '67. In 10 years the van will be in the junk yard while the Camaro will probably doubled in price.

So perhaps the question should be can you afford NOT to buy one....

Rod -

I like your thinking!!  Now, I need to get my wife to see it like that...    Grin
