Everyone starts somewhere. With Toms' approach and attitude you could learn to fix anything.

I got a junk fender from a local body shop to practice on.

Agreed, as long as you start as Tom did; with a junk fender and practice, practice, practice.  My point was not to "start" with a $1500 plus NOS quarter panel on your restoration project.  Gentlemen, start your MIG welders!    Grin

True, I mis-spoke... Meant "originally sold"...

I believe only the Norwood factory built first generation Camaros for export to Canada.  I have never seen a Van Nuys built first generation Camaro that was originally sold in Canada.    Smiley

Leave it to the pros, especially if you're using NOS sheet metal.  NOS sheet metal is just too expensive for you to be learning and practicing on.  Just my two cents.  Good luck with the restoration.   Smiley

Where was your car built? Canada, if you're lucky.

No first generation Camaro was built in Canada.

I dont think its matching numbers but for now the VIN is 124378L338993.

Wayne's car was built in Van Nuys, CA.   (Where all the good Camaros were built!    Wink )

Wayne -

Do you live in Auckland?  A few years ago, I shipped a load of parts to a guy in Auckland who was restoring a '69 Z11.  I thought you might know of the car if you live in that area.  Good luck with the SS!    Smiley

Maybe I'll do this when I retire next year.

Jerry -

If you retire, who will authenticate our first generation "F" bodies?     Sad     Huh

I did see something Jerry wrote about some early cars getting the 8515 booster but I cannot find it now.

firez -
