General Discussion / Sad to sell my 67 L30/M20...
« on: April 07, 2007, 01:55:56 PM »
My wife and I JUST found out that she is pregnant again! While not unwelcomed a definate surprise!!! Bottom line is my "other" baby must go. I hate :( to sell the car (and know I will chase it down in the future!) but it is just not going to financially work out any other way. I am trying to avoid the ebay sale so I figuered I would ask those who really care about these cars first, if anyone has serious interest in an ALL original 67 l30/m20 (origanal paint and hubcaps still on the car) that needs ALOT of work let me know. Thanks.

General Discussion / Re: Vinyl or Not?

I get the originality argument, but Vinyl is out...I like my cars metal - not with a fake convertible look to them! Your pictures do look great, and I don't adivise ripping them off but if you are doing a resto get out the sander and show some metal and paint!

Jerry,

I think we talked on the phone in December, I am Angelo D's friend, you helped us determine if the 67 I was looking at was the L30/M20 setup. It was and after Ang and I fished it out and dragged it home it is now in my garage! I think he is finally getting his Z into the shop...

Thanks,

Jarret

I found this in the local CT Bargain News...I have never seen one for sale, I wonder if it is original? You don't think "interesting trades" could be my wife for the car?

Decoding/Numbers / Re: 67-69 Camaro Convertible windshield decode?

Are there any guidlines that you experinced restores follow? Like certain judgement criteria - or is everything 100% original? I never even knew that the glass was coded, now my cracked windshield is making me nervous!

Thanks a bunch for looking! Don't worry about the built ones just yet, I am far from building the engine yet, just trying to get parts together and find some hidden money!

Decoding/Numbers / 67 L30 Intake, Carb, Heads Date Codes
« on: February 12, 2007, 03:21:27 PM »
I am starting to collect parts for my 67 L30/M20. The block is numbers matching but I need heads, carb, and an intake. What date codes are "correct" if my Block dates to Mid - January, and the Cowl is the 4th week or March(03D)? Can you go a few weeks before, months before? I saw an intake for sale that matches but it is November of 66. Is there any rule in terms of a correct restoration - like car show rules or any guidelines?  Thanks a bunch - I can't wait until spring...

Any way to tell what original wheels were on a car? Full or dog dish, or Rally wheels? I want mine to be correct but I have no other info but the cowl tag?

I found my original owner, but the address was wrong and my letter got sent back! What information specifically should I be looking for? I was just curious about options and any documentation that was still around, any other good questions I can ask if I do get this guy on the phone?

Thanks for the info, I do wonder why the tag was painted? I will get some pictures of mine up soon but they will not be pretty!

03D is the code so 4th week of March correct? The engine codes to January 18th 1967 (T0118MK) These are not too far apart to assume that this is not the original motor I hope?

I agree Rich's article is great, I just wanted to know if anyone had personal experience with these cars or currently owns one. Any ideas on how to tell what wheels came on the car?

Thanks - I have enjoyed reading all the posts for so long - now I finally have a camaro in the garage!
