Originality / 1968 Camaro SS RS
« on: March 11, 2018, 10:43:01 PM »
In regards to a Canadian sold 1968 SS RS L48 4 speed Camaro, I have a few questions. The car was delivered November 1967.

1. Would the car have been equipped with a chrome lid air cleaner?
2. If so, does any body re-pop them?
3. Would the car been equipped with chrome valve covers?
4. If not, would the orange painted valve covers been a flat smooth finish?
5. What would the yellow line and red line be on the tach?

Thanks CRG

Originality / 1969 Camaro Rear Speaker and Insulated Box
« on: August 14, 2015, 09:29:43 PM »
When a 69 Camaro was equipped with the U80 radio option (AM/FM radio operated with a fader for the one rear speaker), did that one speaker have a insulated box covering it?

If so, does anybody have some pics of the actual insulated box?
Now to push my luck, does anybody have pics of the bare speaker with the bracket that was used to hold the insulated box?
Or are there pics of the factory assembly mounted on the rear shelf package?

Thank you CRG!

Originality / 1969 Camaro - Rear Leaf Spring Color Code/Paint Dab
« on: July 08, 2013, 03:29:09 AM »
In the assembly manual on page 57, it clearly describes a color code stripe on the eye of the front of the rear spring.

Was this done at the factory (I assume so) to distinguish various spring applications or for checking torque specs after assembly?

Are there documented cars with this on it?

Was the color code stripe a paint dab or a sticker?

What color was the stripe/dab if you had a 69 Z/28 Norwood build?

Thank you CRG!!!

General Discussion / Re: Heads up on bellhousing alignment
« on: June 22, 2013, 02:28:43 AM »
Thanks CRG and all it's contributors.

I really enjoyed the article written by Jerry M. regarding the proper alignment process for the bellhousing. How many of us have been doing it the incorrect way, scary to think.

Thanks once again CRG!!

Originality / T-60 Battery (top post heavy duty)
« on: May 31, 2013, 03:29:11 AM »
Would anybody have pictures of a T-60 top post heavy duty battery? Is there another designation for the T-60?

What was the difference in dimensions and/or cranking amps in relationship to a Y-55?

If anybody has a T-60 they would like to sell, I would like to purchase one.

Looking for either new or a good used one.

Thank you CRG!

Thank you for the answer.

Thanks for the link. I was on it earlier which really prompted me to ask the question the way I did.
I find that sometimes the threads can get a little off topic and it makes it tough to really determine what the final, correct answer is to the question. Sorry for the "directness of my wording".

I really enjoy this site and especialy it's wealth of knowledge.

Regards

Can someone provide dimensions/measurements and colors for these stripes?

Is it possible to post a picture of the shaft and colors? Maybe original and restored photos?

I only need info. for the car mentioned above, no other drive line please. I will leave it in your trustworthy hands.

Thanks
