2  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: 69 Z 302 pulley finishes on: June 24, 2013, 04:05:06 PM
My thoughts are early cars are phosphated and later cars are painted.Grey phosphated looks way better/but not as durable.Plus paint/powder coating hides rust pits ect.. Powder coating doesn't belong anywhere on a 69 Camaro. All powder coating is a cheap cover up.

Has anyone ever seen the upper and lower arms come from the factory in 100 percent gloss black????What do you guys think is correct???Also are the upper shafts and bushings, washers installed before paint???So that would mean the bushings and shafts, bolts and washers are black also.Thoughts on this??? thanks John

Semi gloss to flat black. Did alot of research on this and it seems like the early car are black and later cars are bare . Just getting done with a three year resto on a 12d fathom blue 68 z. The bracket is black. Maybe Chick will chime in he is restoring a early car also. John
