Originality / Bellhousing bolt

Here is another question i have been thinking about for along time . For example a 69z. The bellhousing and bellhousing bolts have orange paint on them . In some degree of thickness. The right hand bolt one up from the lowest bolt holds the wiring harness strap . The question is the bolt installed at the engine assembly plant and taken out at the car assembly plant?The wiring harness was installed at the car assembly plant. Should the bolt have orange paint on it and tool marks from the socket when it was removed? or did they leave it out and installed the bolt at the car assembly plant?If they installed it at the car assembly plant it would probably have a different head marking and have no orange paint on it . Thoughts? anyone have a survivor stick car with the bellhousing never removed?

Here is a good question. Are the waterpump gaskets the same left and right?one side has three holes and the other side has four. I usually trim the gasket for the side side with the three holes.Only owned one car with the true original waterpump never removed and didnt  looked at it . Anyone have a car with the waterpump never removed?

Originality / 69 z flywheel inspection cover paint

Getting ready to spray the engine and components on my 69z. The flywheel inspection cover is sprayed installed on the engine assembly ? The bellhousing is sprayed bolted to engine so i believe the cover is installed and painted at the same time. Anyone have any photos ? not much paint on cover just a mist of overspray ? Thanks

Looking for a source to purchase fairly correct ink stamped rubber fuelline from. 3/8 for a 69 model year. I am sure there were different venders for this so they are different style of marking?thanks

When did the 660 casting number move from the outer lip to the neck of the housing? Always thought the top neck location started in late 69 . Seen a few january of 69 cars with the 660 number on the neck . Thoughts?

Maintenance / 1969 clutch safety switch

Have a 69 big block 4 speed camaro the clutch safety keeps going bad. Went through two switches in a short time period. When cranking the wires going to the clutch switch are getting allittle warm . Maybe a bad ignition switch ? didnt test the voltage going to the switch yet. Anyone else have the same problem? this is the first time I ever seen a clutch switch go bad. Thanks

Getting ready to paint a 69z engine . The exhaust manifolds were installed before orange paint ?Seen original photos of 1969 small blocks when new and the manifolds were painted. thoughts ? thanks

Originality / 1968 BB timing cover dowel pins

Does anyone know what month they started using the dowel pins ?Thought all 68s had no dowel pins. Just seen a May 31 1968 440 block that has the dowel pin holes,but no pins installed. Maybe they were drilled at the end of 68 production to get ready ?Does anyone have a June or July original BB to compare ?Thanks

Is anyone making the correct fuelline from pump to carb for a 67L78. Its a very unique . 67 only. Called the Right Stuff and they made a few correct ones ,but didn't keep the pattern. thanks
