the SS also had a blacked out grill. To use a 60s word, it was to make it look "mean"

the top drawing looks like it is for a 3 speed trans

The #5325 is the 1969 Camaro OEM Hurst chrome round stick that presses in or (snaps in) to the shifter.

67-68 Camaro used the Muncie shifters OEM

The aftermarket Hurst flat chrome stick ( bolt on) for 67-68 Camaro is no. 4106

5325 is the Hurst number for 69 Camaro chrome stick w/ or without console

I would need a picture to ID the shifter. Hurst stamped numbers on parts but used same parts on many applications

The spring and the metal cup (looks like a hat) is for the neutral gate return

The reverse detent has a ring shaped spring, a bushing, a pin, 6 balls, a C clip, a washer, and a orange plastic grease cup.

Did they have  "Muncie" stamped on the 3 speed shifter for the 3 sp Muncie trans?

I had a 3 sp shifter with Muncie stamped chrome stick but most 3 sp shifters I see
did not have the Muncie stamped stick

I have seen the shifters but not with the car attached

does it have the original 3 sp Hurst shifter with the round chrome stick?

I have seen a bunch of these over the years at swap meets and ebay so there must have been a good number of them sold

my Chevelle has a 10+ year old lacquer paint and held up well except has some chips on the rocker panels. I never waxed it once just use a very light hand rubbing compound on it

upshift/downshift also depends on rear end gear ratio

In the 70s I bought a 1963 Impala 4 door 327 4bbl (i  think ) 250 hp with PG.
I bought it just for the engine but drove it for the winter and that thing would downshift at high speed and that 327 would screem until it up shifted again.

make a note or take picture of the location and the stack order of the 2 shims and the shifter plates. This is where people screw up on re-assembly.

Also look for wear on the reverse detent parts

I asked Joel Rosen "Mr Motion" about the ads that guaranteed the Motion Performance Phase III Camaros would run 11.5 ET.
Joel said the MP Camaro drag car was runing 10.5 ET and was the same set up as the Phase III street car.
He did not feel his guarantee would be a problem since he had a full one second cushion.

Joel also said that no one ever challenged the 11.5 ET guarantee.

almost all of the Yenko 1969 COPO 427 Camaro and Chevelle AT cars were column shift.
Yenko then installed a Hurst his/her duel gate shifter in most of them

the one you have pictured is the aftermarket Hurst and has the 67-68 chrome stick. The 69 stick is different. The shifter body is the same for 67-69 but not the stick.

also looks like it has an extra hole drilled above the 2 mount holes
