Decoding/Numbers / Location of front brake lines?
« on: March 15, 2007, 08:10:54 PM »
I was reading another post that mentioned the location of the front brake lines, on top of the frame on on the side. I was wondering what the significance of the location was. If they are on top, as with drum brakes and the car has disc brakes then the clamp that holds thte rubber line to the "A" arm cant be used...correct?

Originality / Big block with auto.
« on: March 13, 2007, 04:17:49 PM »
Hello all: Is it true that a  big block with auto trans and power disc brakes would have had 2 brackets under the rear carb bolt? 1. Power brake pipe to hose. 2. Kick down switch bkt. If not where was the power brake pipe mounted?Did they use a different pipe?

« on: February 06, 2007, 05:15:16 PM »
I have searched all the camaro web sites I know about, but can't find a detaled list of everything you got with 9737. I know about the 140 mph spedo and the 13/16" sway bar andt the 15" wheels (were they rallies or steel w/ dog dish). I've also heard you would get some trim package. Thank for the help.

Restoration / Turbo 400 ID stamp color..a really obscure question
« on: December 20, 2006, 05:02:29 PM »
Hello: There were 3 different Turbo 400's used in the 69 Camaro's, CC, CE and CX to denote upshift points, ect. I was wondering what color was used when these codes were ink stamped on the bell housing. I've only seen a CC trans. which was stamped in yellow. Also were the ID tags, riveted to the side of the trans, different colors? Maybe someone out their knows. Also did all the ID tags have 68 in the date code area of the ID tag as the stamped in date is sequencial from the first calander day in 1968? (Info from Jerry MacNeish book) I would certianly appreciate any input.

Restoration / Correct locaton of proportionong valve on sub frame
« on: October 02, 2006, 01:49:12 AM »
Hello: I was trying to install the proportioning valve back on the sub frame tonight, but it seems the front stainless steel line is to short. The assembly manual shows the valve mounting close to the end of the sub frame. The holes fro mounting are their but the front line won't reach. Has anyone else had this problem? The car is 01D, might that make a difference or are all cars the same? I would appreciate any help. Always something.....
