Did Rich Vogler met his fate at this track.  It was a televised race on the paved oval.  I believe it was on Saturday Night Thunder on TNN.  Back in the 80's ?

I think some interiors in '67 had white stripes.

General Discussion / Re: CE codes..how far out date wise?
« on: February 03, 2020, 11:56:17 PM »
The '68 Z/28 I had from '71 to '73 had a CE block that was dated in the middle of '69.  It just meant that the block was replaced under warranty in '69.  The block had no VIN stamped on it and was a '69 numbered block.

General Discussion / Re: Trouble with Right Stuff rear disc conversion
« on: January 31, 2020, 05:04:36 AM »
I found the problem with the rear disc brakes.  The return spring was too long at each caliper.  Once I shortened the springs so it was not binding and could be adjusted without binding.  All is good !

General Discussion / Re: Original Color?
« on: January 31, 2020, 04:59:42 AM »
Had my 69 been the original color in '05 I would not have bought.  The original color was Burnished Brown w/white stripes and white interior. When I bought it in '05 it had been painted white w/black stripes, with black interior.  December '19 it became Lemans Blue w/ white stripes and back to white interior. I pulled the original motor and set it aside, replacing it with a GMPP 383/425hp crate motor.  I think I'm done for while.

:-\   I replaced all the locks on my '69 because my keys were stolen when my house was broken into.  Now my horn doesn't work.  What did I do wrong?  I don't remember seeing a loose wire in the column.

General Discussion / Re: Cleaning a CD player head

I gave up on getting box opened.  I found a new one on Ebay.  An open box sale.  The open box was missing the Owner's Manual but the unit was still in the original unopened packing.  $60.00 This model has been discontinued.  I'm happy I guess that's what counts. :)

Thanks for the replies.  So far I haven't been able to get the case open.  I've taken out every external on the casing.  It must also snap together in some way.  ???

The changer is a JVC CH-1500 12 disc.

Have any of you had to clean a CD player head.  I have a 10 disc player in the trunk of my '69.  The sound has been distorted the last few days.  I think its because the player head needs to be cleaned.  Have any of you gotten involved in doing this with good results?  Thanks Fred.

Originality / Endura bumper guards?
« on: July 18, 2019, 12:24:05 AM »
I don't think I've ever seen a Z/28 with front bumper guards when it came with the eudura bumper option.  Wouldn't guards have been required because of the bumper height mandate for the Z/28's?

Originality / Re: How to tell if it's a real OEM bumper?
« on: July 17, 2019, 11:29:27 PM »
I have an original rear bumper that was removed my the previous owner because it needed to be rechromed.  The license plate light is still installed.  The rivets have a torx imprint.  Is this original?

I got a set of 4" extenders from Camaro Specialties  716-652-7086.  1 set is for 1 seat.
