Mark... things are great down here... it has been colder but this weekend was in the low 70's and we went cruising in the black 69 Z.
I went to Clemson... and love the lake... Keowee is much better than Hartwell though. They just built a new golf course on Keowee and Oprah, Tom Glavin, John Smoltz, Michael Jordan, as well as many others have homes up there. Gary Player is moving his business and his family here as well... building another new course for him...
CRAZY ... property values in the upstate of SC are going into the stratosphere.

by the way I love the 68 L78... 68's RS/SS's are probably my favorite first gen.

Those stripes look very much like the ones on the black car that I have as well... very shoddy tape job.
Stripe bleeds under the tape edge everywhere.

Here is a photo of the orange mark on the original trunk seal this is the pass side stripe...

Asking about the trunk weatherstripping just to see if it was original and if so does it have any overspray anywhere on it... close to where it goes in the channel? it is very hard to repaint the rear end and not get any overspray on the trunk seal unless the whole opening was taped off.

Here is another of the stripe ends... look at the overspray...

Does the car have the original trunk weatherstripping in it?
If so it the ends will not meet in the center it will be off to the left a bit and there should be an orange mark on the weatherstripping... it should be located near the left hand side of the passenger side stripe.

With out a doubt that is the vinyl roof stripe configuration... I just looked at the pics of Camaro Specialties Barn find original paint Z and the stripes look the same.

1086  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: head gaskets on: October 20, 2006, 03:08:30 PM
Originals were steel shim head gaskets.
Not sure of the thickness but I am going to say somewhere around .015-.020
1087  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Restoration / Re: 67 heater core and box on: October 14, 2006, 08:33:16 AM
If you have it apart...either replace the heater core or at least have it checked... HOT ANTIFEEZE on the feet is not a very pleasant experience... even less so if there is carpet in the car!

Steve, Pauls car has the numbers matching 325hp 396.

I am not sure how late they were made but there were some "pace car looking" cars made after the race for some midwestern dealers... someone will correct any info that I have wrong here... PLEASE correct me...

Very nice... they must have put a new interior in the car as well...

It is very original under the hood, how does the suspension look?

1092  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: Caps for 69 (68?) RS windshield washer bracket on: October 07, 2006, 02:18:02 PM
I made a set of the wiper bottle screw caps... they are not quite perfect but much better than the reproductions... This was the first set and I learned from the process and believe that the next set will be much better.
