1081  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: Two Black 1969 Z28s! on: March 11, 2007, 06:30:36 PM
Jerry/Kurt,
How many other original paint Tuxedo Black Z's have been found?
I know that there is the 1200 mile black RS with stripe delete... so it would be a - - paint car.

1082  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Decoding/Numbers / is this car in the DB 68Z VIN# 8N477646 on: March 11, 2007, 10:41:10 AM
Kurt,
Ken Shupe bought a 68 302 with this VIN# on it, he is planning on putting it in is car... it is very close on the Vin's but if the car has been located I am sure he would reunite the two...

I had mone machined for Screw-in studs (7/16) and guid plates... the 7/16 studs keep the valve train more stable.
1084  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Decoding/Numbers / LA built Z28's on: March 09, 2007, 02:05:40 PM
If it has conole guages it wold have had a tach (rev counter) and a clock in the center pod. Most likely it was not a factory guage package car if there is no Tach.
there are punched holes in the firewall... in certain locations if the car in deed had factory instrumentation... find or buy a 69 Assembly manual and look in the front for hole locations and diameters.

The Sequoia Green car was restored and recently sold in GA... (last 6 months) if anybody knows the whereabouts I would like to know, I am interested in buying this car.

Jonesy you are correct the 69 hose is for all SB... the lower markings with the UY are for 67-68 Z exclusively...

Good news  Grin I heard from EM and I am going through the process... I will let everyone know when everything is finalized... I will be doing upper and lowers for SB and BB 67-69 Camaro's to begin with. COPO's included. Next will be 70-73 SB uppers and lowers. I have the research done for all of the above listed hoses and will be submitting the Part#'s to the licensing company.

We should all thank your parents you are an incredible historian for our segment of the hobby!

Yeah...

I just got a set of upper and lower hoses from Rick's for a 69 SS, and the GM markings were pathetic....

I didn't have the heart to put them on....
Exactly why I did some research and came up with the stamps...

Will do Jeff, I have submitted a request to the licensing company... let's see where it goes....
1092  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: ***Wanted PICS of 69 Z Radiator Hose Markings*** on: February 25, 2007, 05:42:12 PM
Thanks John, I have sent a request to them.
The 67-68 Z hose markings were taken from the photos of Jon Mello's survivor 67 Z hose.
I will keep everyone up to date with the results of the request to equity management...
1093  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Restoration / Re: Brittle plastic on: February 24, 2007, 05:39:26 PM
The black ones usually are not near as brittle as the colors... you may be able to find a good used set if yours are real bad.
1094  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: ***Wanted PICS of 69 Z Radiator Hose Markings*** on: February 24, 2007, 01:19:41 PM
Here are the results of the 2 stamps I have made so far... does any one (JohnZ) know what I need to do as far as permission/licensing from GM in order to sell hoses with the stamps on them?

1095  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Restoration / Re: Brittle plastic on: February 24, 2007, 12:33:24 PM
Are they a color other than black? If so there is really nothing that can be done with them... UV light seems to have a terrible affect on the colored plastic, it gets hard brittle then deteriorates.
