It came standard on late 68 SS's the early SS's had the 67 style Bumble bee. Lemans Blue was a spring color and thus would have received the longer stripe. It was also available as a separate option-D90.
I second the more pics as I have a fondness for LB 68's having had a LB 68 RS/SS 396 in the 80's.

If thats how it came then that's how I'd want to replicate it, too many of these cars are restored way better than they were built, personally I wish we would get back to closer to original with the differences, that is what is interesting to see. Seeing every car restored just alike is so boring.

BTW, GREAT shot Jerry!

I'd like to see the height on one which sat unsprung for the last 40 years vs sitting with the suspension compressed.

Level with the front tire is how it sat before and was entirely to low, looked like it had been lowered.

Earlier cars had more white down the face of the firewall, there is a pic in JM's book of a Nov 68 built Z with a completely white firewall and the black heater box cover sticks out like a sore thumb being black!

Here is the 10D Lemans Blue white stripe car I am finishing.

Some of the 68's didn't use a gang for the VIN stamps. I have seen some that are worse than the one pictured.

The aftermarket gauges were less expensive, more accurate, and easier to read... TRIFECTA!

Those are BEFORE!

I have the ad and photos after the resto as well, however it looks like every other back yard camaro reto...

Honestly it made me sick to find the car had been restored...

Jon and I discussed it when we talked about the A sedan race cars. I had wondered where it went to and when it might appear.

You can polish the lens with plastic polish and they will look like new.

Unfortunately it was restored (should not have been) and sold out of Jefferson Georgia a few years back about a year after the Texas sale.
I had it tracked that far as I have been after this car... UGHHGHHHHH!!!!
Jon Mello and I have discussed this car before...
