Why has California never been anything but a bur under the saddle?  They've got 36 blends of gas now days and put the squeeze on the whole nation with some of their crazy thinking.

Don't get me started :p

Is 3990918 the part number of the recalled motor mounts? or was the leash the only change as part of the recall?

37  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Re: BLOCK CAST DATE VS PAD STAMP DATE on: December 27, 2012, 07:18:54 PM
I have always ben amazed at how efficient the casting plants were. There is a day seperation between the casting of the four components on my 350. Block on the 20th, water pump on the 20th, intake on the 21st and heads on the 22nd - all assembled on the 25th
I thought that was fast - but cast to built in a day - i'm impressed
38  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Originality / Re: Correct exhaust for 68 bb L89 car on: December 21, 2012, 10:07:38 PM
When I drove my car, I always got pulled over for no front license plate(required here in Ca) - they just had a hard time seeing it due to the angle? - finally asked a CHP that became a friend - he said his buddies just wanted to look at the car

40  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Decoding/Numbers / Re: 69 Water Pump Numbers on: November 19, 2012, 12:55:57 PM
yes "170" is the last three of the casting number. 3927170. I believe it is the correct water pump for a Tonawanda built 350/300. It was interchangable with the 3953692. The 170 has a T cast into it.

44  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Decoding/Numbers / Re: 69 Water Pump Numbers on: October 06, 2012, 04:54:23 AM
Where was your motor built? Tonawanda? if so, take a look at the 170 water pumps as well. They may be "more correct" for your motor
45  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Restoration / Re: 302 engine build piston recomendations on: September 26, 2012, 07:29:10 PM
deviating a little bit more... is there a current good reproduction of the "pink" rods? or a good source for reasonably priced originals?
