how does an alternator with a 9DZ date code translate into April 3rd 1969? assuming the Z is actually a 2 wouldn't that be April 2nd??

It's a good thing that 68 doesn't need to be smogged. The exhaust is supposed to exit behind the passenger compartment, otherwise it will fail automatically. - this is from experience when I had to smog my 69 prior to them moving the date to 1974

not to get too far off the subject,
when was the HD battery used? what qualified the hd battery use?
I ask because my 06A had the top post cables - when it clearly should have the side post
