1  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Mild Modifications / Re: Power BRAKE Booster - not Power Steering PICTURE ADDED on: July 26, 2006, 03:37:30 PM
Thanks for the suggestions.  As I said, I'm really hesitatnt to drill a hole in this thing.  I've attached a picture so everybody can see the manifold I'm working with.  I'm thinking about trying to tap vaccuum from the carbs.  I'll be running 2 Holleys with a mild cam so maybe might have enough vaccuum?Huh

Thanks Rich/John. Sincerely appreciate your responses and help. Is there any alternative other than putting a fitting on this thing? If at all possible, I'd really like to avoid doing that..........  Thanks again.
3  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Mild Modifications / Power BRAKE Booster - not Power Steering on: July 24, 2006, 03:02:00 PM
Busy freakin day at work.  It's the hose running from the power brake booster to the intake manifold.  The Crossram intake manifold doesn't have a recepticle for the hose so what the heck do I do with it???  Sorry, and thanks............
4  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Mild Modifications / Power STeering Power Booster hose??? on: July 24, 2006, 10:12:13 AM
I'm installing an Edelbrock Crossram manifold on the 350 in my '68 Camaro.  The power steering power booster has a 1/2 or 5/8 hose that runs to the intake manifold.  There's no provision for it on the Crossram manifold.  What the heck do I do with it???  Thanks much.............
5  Camaro Research Group Discussion / General Discussion / Power Steering Power Booster 'Feed'??? on: July 24, 2006, 10:09:19 AM
Am installing an Edelbrock Crossram intake on my '68 Camaro.  There's a 1/2 or 5/8 inch hose running from the power booster to the top of the original intake manifold but there no provision for this line on the Croosram.  What should I do with it???  Thanks guys (and gals)................
6  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Mild Modifications / Fixing Timing 180 Out on: May 31, 2006, 03:19:42 PM
Dumb question.  If my timing is 180 out, can I correct by simply moving the spark plug wires around 180???  I can't think of why I might need to actually pull out the dist and turn it 180..............  Thanks.............
7  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Mild Modifications / Re: 350 Won't Start??? on: May 31, 2006, 03:17:46 PM
So, thanks everybody.  DUMB!!! question.  Can I just move the spark plug wires 180 or is there some reason I actually need to pull the dist out and rotate 180???  I know, I know.  Thanks again............
8  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Mild Modifications / Timing 180 out??? on: May 30, 2006, 01:59:21 PM
I recently pulled the dist to change intake manifold. Put back after and timed everything to the mark. But engine won't start and backfires. Is it possible that I'm getting spark at the top of the exhaust stroke rather than the top of the intake stroke? Thought I'd ask before I go home from work and change everything 180 degrees.  Thanks..........

Thanks man.  I'll check everything, again.  Appreciate your response, can only be timing....  I just don't understand what I'm missing, should be simple, done this a hundred times..........
10  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Mild Modifications / 350 Won't Start??? on: May 30, 2006, 12:03:14 PM
Either I'm losin my mind or gettin old. Put a new intake manifold and carbs on my 350, now it backfires through the carbs and the exhaust (not at the same time???). I timed to 8 BTDC as before the changes (nice cam), double checked firing order 18436572, number 1 being front of engine, driver's side. What the heck am I missing???  Thanks...............
11  Camaro Research Group Discussion / Mild Modifications / Edelbrock XC8 - HELP??? on: May 28, 2006, 08:04:44 AM
I'm going crazy with this. I put an old XC8 CrossRam manifold on the 350 in my '68 Camaro. Be damned if I can figure out how to get the gas pedal linked up. Edelbrock was no help at all!!!  Anyone with any ideas or has done before?  There has to be a solution.  Thanks much.............
